You can increase the amount of stuff you can build by dropping and storing weapons.

Or are you talking about build footprint?

Some of the settlement build boundaries could do with pushing out a smidgen - Jamaica Plains could do with being extended a bit across the road so you can use the pond to put a water purifier in for example.
