Settlement Ideas

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:17 am

Light-up mosaic monuments will surround my home. My home will sit atop my museum. My museum will be lined with shelves and cases displaying the most rare and interesting items I find throughout the wasteland.

If I create a bad karma save, I will surely have my own raider camp scattered with mutilated torsos.

I wonder where/how we harvest the materials.. It seems like in the demo you can demolish a whole house with one click. So I assume you can only re-purpose the materials found on that settlement's lot.

There'll be without a doubt mods that change this but it makes sense, but I would like to make shacks in the middle of no where, no where near hostiles, no where near settlements my own little shack for me and my companions/base of operations.

If that's possible ma it'll be exciting I'd assume they'd have a way to get around this maybe something like each level has an increased cost in resources then the level below it.

a vault, either above ground or below. Totally sealed environment.

Think of dungeon keeper or evil genius games. I want a lair. (With traps)

Wonder if you can chop down trees for wood, assign houses or beds to certain people, what kind of schedule villagers will have (hopefully they don't just stand around their assigned area), give armor and weapons to villagers, have an armory villagers go to when under attack ..... so many questions lol Can't wait for this game to come out to find out :D

Now, all we need to know is whether there is an underground site or not. In fact, I am dying to know that!

I just really hope we can build a large settlement around a vault, if they don't let us make a Vault city-esque settlement I'm going to be a bit annoyed.

Though on the bright side we can see settlement management as a way of saying we're founding a country or a nation which I actually love.

A basemant is also good enough for me ^_^

Because it's a perfect place for everything! A storage, an armory, a shelter, a bar....

Even torture chambers... Muahahahahaha

Yea I seriously hope we're able to build underground stuff or build in interiors, which focuses on my want of a settlement in and surrounding a vault.

haha exactly good plus I really like keeping everything organized so I could keep all of my heavy weapons in the basemant, with a food section (canned good) and a bunk bed (not my main bed). I spent so much time making sure everything was organized in my fallout 3 home and my weapons, childhood toys, etc were on display.

What I'm most curious about is how my house/abode will go in regard to no longer being an independent interior cell since from what I've seen it'll mostly like be part of an external cell.

Defiance, Massachusetts here i come. :D

Definitly going to dive into this, probaly start with just making a nice house and some defences, but definitly making a town with some outposts later on.

Yea, exterior homes is a big eh for me. On one hand there is most certainly a demand for them if you look on the Nexus for Oblivion, 3, NV and Skyrim but on the other hand you have problems with weather systems like rain and them getting cluttered to hell when there is too much stuff surrounding them which can hurt performance.

I'm gonna have millions of statues of Chairmen Cheng everywhere! People will know of the hero Cheng and his good deeds for the world! If possible.

Exactly while it does add to the immersion being able to walk straight in and out however there's a lot of issues it does create for example I don't want NPC's fleeing into my house and raiders chasing after them moving all of my well placed [censored].

I hope there is wither a way to build a luxury home, or to overtake an existing one. Think Ultra-Luxe. If this is possible, I want to build the defenses to be high, tough walls. Keeping attackers out rather than slaughtering them. Qarth (GoT) like.

I will build most of my settlements in a Skyrim (middle ages?) fashion: Outer defenses, trade on outskirts, settlements within, and my stronghold as the most inner structure.

Now all you need to do is to make an "election" for the sake of democracy XD

I believe we can, because in the trailer we can see Todd dismantling an existing structure for materials...

I'm hoping we can get some control over who is actually allowed to stay in our settlements. I'd really like to see an option for exiling people or refusing access to my settlements.

I have a feeling they'll be all generic like the other citizens of Megaton were so no or limited dialogue. If i'm wrong I'll be very very happy.

And Todd Howard definitely said in the crafting trailer that the traders that turns up in our settlements "will have some of the best items in the game...".
