Settlement Size

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 9:46 am

Hi guys, I am really into settlements and I would like to improve my Castle, rebuilding the concrete walls and so on. But I did add in lots of Machine Gun turrets a while ago and now I cannot build anything else. I stored most of them now but still the size is close to max. I assume that if I start repairing the walls i will not have enough to work on. So the question is: is there any way to increse the max size of a settlement?

Mind you I had the same problem in Red Rocket but I did manage to do just about what I wanted. Since then the settlement has lured in 9 settlers and the max size did not change, so is there any "trick" to it?

Cheers

Yes the junk items in workshop mode exploit is your friend here.

Exploit? What do you mean? My problem still persists: if I fix the concrete walls, I am dead in terms of settlement size...

I tested this last night, get all your guns(the more the merrier)and drop them out your inventory, then go into work shop mode and store them in workshop and watch that size bar go down.

Edit - Don't take the piss though or it will crash.

See the link above second post. Scrap items on the floor in workshop mode and it decreases the object limit in that settlement. So drop items on the floor then enter workshop mode and point your crossbar at them then hit the button for scrap item...

There's simply a mod on the Nexus Forums which outright disables the limit, so there's no need to take up to 20 minutes just to increase the amount of items you can placed down by a fraction of the original limit.

Though keep in mind, the limit is there for a reason, too many items in one settlement is certainly going to cause fps drops and probably crashes, might even corrupt the save, so be cautious about the amount of Radstag Heads you place in your castle mansions.

I'll quickly find the link to the mod. And if you don't know how to mod, than I'd be glad to explain as to how to.
