A wind blew across from the Illiac bay,across Anvil and into the rolling plains and thick forests of Cyrodil,the wind was neither a beginning nor an end but it was A beginning.

Ikarion stood looking out over his squat little settlement, it was still dark out, before the peasant he had in his service would be out picking the tobacco,or the fruit he had began to harvest,walking slowly among the area he touched the young apple tree's and smiled. This was the life,retirement,of course he had been getting reports of goblin movement nearby but hey,what does it matter. Ikarion slwoly played with the hilt of his sword,an eagle gripping an orb.Ikarion smiled as the scent of cooking food reached his nose,and he began to walk back to the main house.

Erik stood at his post, it was almost late-afternoon, and already his stomach was clawing at him for food. And the smell of food being cooked was not helping either. Erik sighed, and scraqed an imaginary object of his shoulder. Erik had signed up as a Guard here at the new settlement, if he stayed at the Imperial City, he would have gone on a murderous rampage out of boredom. The smell of cooking food made Erik tired, smells like......venison He thought and scratched the side of his head tiredly. He never really liked venison, but right now, he was so hungry he wanted to eat the dirt, but he fought back the urge. A movement far beside made made his hand shoot down to his sword, and he thought, for a split second, he might have to fight something.

But then relaxed when he saw Ikarion, one of the denizens here in the settlement. Erik didn't know much about him, He hired Erik and was the Ranchmaster. He was also a retired legionnaire, and came to the settlement to enjoy his retirement.
Ikarion headed to the main house, where they all stayed until the settlement was complete. Once again, the smell of food hit Erik like a hammer, Erik licked his lips, who knows, maybe Ikarion would be kind enough to invite him in. His long, scaly tail flickered wildly. All his hope of eating early vanished as Ikarion entered the house. Erik sighed loudly, His shift was only 2 more hours. He leaned back against his wooden post and stared into the forest beyond.

Ikarion finaly made it back to the main house,a large stack of lumber sat neatly on one side,any day now he would begin building a smithy,but none of the personell he had been waiting for had showed up yet

Erik attempted to ignore the smell of the cooked food, but it was difficult. He was tempted to leave his post and eat, but Ikarion would likely fire him and Erik would have to go through his father. He began tapping his figures rhythmically against the wooden log he was leaning against. Then a slight rustling sound caught his attention, he sprang from his leaning state and froze. It sounded like a bush being ripped out of the ground. There it was again! A rustling sound in the forest! Erik's body became tense, and he drew his sword slowly. The rustling was louder this time, and closer. Erik thought of using the Emergency whistle the Guard Captain gave him, but fear kept him frozen in place.

Something then emerged from the treeline, its large brown body moving ominously on the ground. It was a Brown Bear. Erik had only seen bears a few times, on hunting trips with his father when he was younger. It lumbered towards the settlement, then stopped when it saw Erik. Erik still stood frozen, sword at the ready. His gaze met the bears. Nothing happened for a couple of seconds. Then the bear grunted loudly, which took Erik off guard and he flinched as if being hit by an axe. The bear then lumbered away slowly back to the forest. Erik sighed, and slowly holstered his sword. At least it wasn't a goblin he thought. He took a deep breath and kept a better eye on his surroundings. After a couple of seconds he smiled to himself. He no longer felt hungry.

Ikarion figured the guards must be hungry and so he sent a peasant with an assortment of food to the waiting guards. Ikarion frowned at the barrenness of his land,so much land,so little help.

"These peasant are busy around here." Colinion said. "There's only one so, here take this venison." Colinion handed the guard a slab of freshly cooked deer meat. I can tell that when the rest arrive, this place will be great

Name: Kyrdrav Nihkert
Nickname: Nihk (Nick)
Race: Dunmer
Age: 35
Gender: Male

Class: Peasant (Hunter)
skills: Axe, Marksman, Athletics, Armorer, Block, Light Armour

Appearance:: Taller and Meaner than your average Dark Elf
Eyes:: Red
Build:: Strong build.
Weight:: 15 Stone
Height:: 5 foot 9
general appaerance: Dark green hair, Red eyes, gaunt cheeks and a square jaw

Weapons: Silver Dagger, and various huntsman weapons in the settlement's storage facility (Silver axe, steel bow, silver arrows)

Armor/clothing: Leather Boots and Gauntlets. Tan cloth pants and Beige shirt.

Mentality: Nihk Hardened farmer of the Ashlands, fond of change and loves to hunt his food. Not the most pleasant person you'll ever meet, but what Dunmer are pleasant? Despises Orcs. He carries a whistle, which he uses to call for help when out hunting in the dangerous forests that surround the settlement. But to him nothing tastes like it did back in Morrowind... He is a blatant blasphemer, and despises worship of all deitys. So far the Gods haven't punished him for his heresy...

Misc gear: Compass, Small pouch of Gold, Whistle

Bio: When Nihk broke away from his ashlander home-tribe all those years ago, he found work by moving between settlements, lending his hunting expertise, and helping erect buildings. His previous employers were mostly Orcs, and he fell out of favour with them... Disowned by said settlement, he finds himself here, in his new home.

IC: Kyrdrav (Or Nihk as he is more commonly known) was back in the peasant housing part of the settlement, trying to rest after his guard-feeding run. He longed for a good hunt. Today was a slow day, but he had heard that the Boss wanted to go out and recruit more helping hands. To Nihk this was a great idea; the more help the Boss gets, the less lonely Nihk would be. He was eager to have more peasants around, the peasant houses were feeling rather empty, which is a damn shame 'cause they're nice houses Nihk thought, maybe we should go into towns and recruit there, and I could help persuade them to work in this place, the more the merrier. Nihk sat and waited in the Peasant's quarters until he was needed again. Right now he didn't know what to think of his employer. So far all he knows is that Ikarion is retired, and owns this settlement. Quite a comfortable existance, but far from a simple one. I wonder what duties will be handed to me next...

OOC: Yea, get more peasants up in this RP, y'hear?

Bio: raggi stands before you and says "Well, I'm from Vvardenfell. My folks travelled all over the place around and about the Red Mountain - we were a small community - hardly even a tribe and we mostly hunted and foraged. We kept to the old ways as well as we could and traded what we could gather or hunt and make. That was how I came to learn a bit of magic - traded Telvanni when we we out their way, and Redoran herders and the like. Urshilaku, Erabenimsum and the other strong tribes made us welcome when we were out that way and made a few friends by passing on news and scouting for them from time to time.

My magic I learned from a Telvanni a long time ago. It happened like this.

When my potential for magica first began to manifest things got a bit difficult. We pretty much decided that I ought to train it, but how?

One day we saw this crazy man ... he was in a really bad way. He was very ill and he had been battered about so bad he hardly looked mer. We had heard of one of the Telvanni out on an Island who was very curious about everything and especially good at healing, so we gathered some trade goods and sort of coaxed the poor man to follow us. We had a reed mat that we strung accross some bamboo for a raft. The crazy was a bit dubious about this, but eventually a bit of food laid out decided him, and we polled accross to that small Island. Somehow that journey seemed to calm him ... it was a very peaceful day with not a breath of wind and the sea was smooth as a baby's bottom and clear as glass and there was a sort of hush that spread accross the waters - like we were expected somehow and welcome.

When we go to the Island we saw the Telvanni standing there still as a statue with four small girls who were all waving to us excitedly.

Well he invited us into his Tower and he was very friendly - not at all what you would expect of one of the Sorcerers. He told us, to our astonishment, that he had been expecting us for some days and had a cavern where he looked after people who were damaged by what he called Coprus. We stayed with him for some time and while I helped him with his experiments he taught me a few tricks - but then my family started to show signs of Coprus ... it was the end of everthing. Of us all I was the only one who seemed unafected and we decided that they would be best of with the Master who had hopes of one day finding a cure and that I should set out on my own.

Anyways, that's all I want to say for now"

Now you have to decide if you believe him

Ikarion decided to begin working. walking briskly to his rooms he found the two scrolls he had secured in a chest. Taking them out and walking back into the sunshine that sweltered after a light rain. Ikarion spoke the command word and the two lesser bonewalkers appeared. Ordering them to stack the wood he walked to the settlement bell and rang it calling everyone to him. He then began to help the bonewalkers set the wood in the postion they would be needed for a smithy.

raggi is wandering thought the lazy woods of Cyrodiil, enjoying the warm sunshine when it starts raining. He puts his bags down and opens up his rain shade - two poles of wood with a weatherproof cloth strung between them and two uprights. He slings his bags over his shoulders again and straps the uprights to either side of his outer bags so that he is now a walking rain shelter - pleased with that he is.

He sees the outline of a a few bare bones buildings some way ahead, and a jumpy-looking guard busy stufing his face with food. Casting chameleon is an automatic reflex with raggi - and he uses that to slip quietly away and circles the settlement looking for someone a little saner (sane people do not walk around fingering their sharp-looking swords, possibly hoping to use them on raggi) to converse with.

Just at that moment the light rain peters out and a short while later he hears a small bell pealing it's summons.

The guard is called along with all the pepole of the settlement to assist with putting up a new smithy. Seeing his chance he takes the opportunity to enter the settlement unmarked on the side away from the jumpy-looking guard and settles down in the lee of a building to watch the proceedings, dropping the chameleon spell as softly and gradually as may be so that there is no sudden revelation of his presence - and it is just as if he has been there all along.

Then he spreads out a mat before him and takes out an assortment of herbs, mushrooms and root vegetables that he has been foraging for since the early hours of the morning.

He sits there quietly and contentedly chewing on some smoked venison that he made a while ago and biting into the odd succulent white mushroom.

Ikarion noticed the small dunmer a few minutes after he appeared. Straining over the weight of the large piece of timber he addressed the slim man. "Gonna help?" Ikarion shoved mightily to set up the support beams.

Genesis steps out from the shadows where he was observing Raggi, and ducks as the timber narrowly misses his head. "What on earth are you doing?! Be careful with that." He braces himself and lifts up the beam again, slotting it into place. "Ikarion, I'm off duty for a bit now, let me help you out with the rest of these - no harm in getting this done quicker."

raggi stands there, one leg sort of lifting sideways and returning to it's normal place beside the other, with a woebegone expression manoeuvering up and down his face as his eyeballs try to study the feet that are hiding beneath his paunch ... until he has a bright idea! His eyebrows shoot up towards his receeding hairline, opening his eyes wide in the process and he mumbles: "Well I could always make you guys a snack - my fire-cured venison sticks and fresh mushrooms are quite tasty!" If there are some plates and bread anywhere?

Jamel walks towards the others.

"Check in the warehouse next to my bedroll. Bread, plates, forks, knives. Anything nobodies was going to miss." Leaning against the manor wall she looked at the others working on what she assumed was a blacksmith's workroom. "Who hired an armorer?" Shrugging she left to make her rounds again. Not much could go wrong with an axe, a smithy was just another thing to cause trouble.
