settlement update bug in pipboy

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:11 am

Not sure if anyone has bothered posting about this, but the last few days I have been noticing that settlements are not updating correctly in the pipboy. Just before I posted this I was looking at my pipboy under workshops and it showed I had zero beds in one of my settlements, which just happened to be the one I was in, so I knew full well it had plenty of beds. Then when I closed the pipboy and reopened it. It was back to normal.

Not to mention it says you have a settler, but you know full well there isn't any. You guys need to do something, because it ruining a part of the game lots of people want to love.

I read somewhere this is linked to having televisions at your settlements, sounds daft I know.

I've seen this loads of times.

population counts being wrong as well as the amount of beds. Don't know about the tv thing though because in some of the settlements i've seen it I have no TV's

The rumor/hearsay is that if you get far enough away, the map despawns the settlement to save ram, and loads it back up when you fast travel/walk close, so the data for settlements you haven't visited in a while goes super wonky in the pip boy. It is definitely a bug, but minor.
