So I just saw my first attack on one of my settlements and there were super mutants and mutant hounds spawning in the middle of my settlement. They didn't even have to come through my heavily fortified entrance area, they just appeared and started attacking people.
This leaves me wondering why I even built walls in the first place. I mean the one guy says "how about building some defenses, WALLS or something?" So I thought, "Great, I'll build some walls", and now I feel like I wasted hours and hours thinking how to build the entrances and fortify my settlement and then building them. They do NOTHING! what a waste of time...
So now I feel a little cheated in that here I am playing this settlement building game (with little to no tutorial or help), I thought I was having fun, but now I find out that the game doesn't work that way. Not sure how you justify this as being fun.
Just to be clear, walls don't keep attackers out of your settlement, and those heavily fortified, cool and well designed and thought out entrances are pretty worthless too, not sure how to approach this now, but it's looking less and less fun. To protect my settlements I now need to figure out how to defend against the game engine instead of actual enemies, breaks the immersion terribly...
