Settlements Attacks: Too easy ?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 10:37 am

So I was wondering what you guys think about the attacks in the settlements, are they being too easy for you all as well ?

Right now I'm lvl 38 and have about 7-8 settlements currently active, can't say much on the storyline but I already made that trip in goodneighbor.

I'm hoping that at higher lvl (around 50) or as I progress futher in the Storyline I'll get to see more serious attacks.

Why not just change the difficulty to harder?

I've had several attacks where raiders show up in power armor sporting missile launchers and modded laser rifles, and I'm playing on "normal". I think they're about hard enough!

been getting the kamikazi ones. they are awesome to fight, but kinda wierd seeing one of em running towards your base walls and simply not putting a dent on them lol.

Speaking of that I acultually saw a suicide mole rat the other day. It was blinking red and I was unsure but ran away. It exploded. (I'm on survival difficulty). I agree the suicide mutants are very scary but if handled properly they can be an asset. I've seen them explode and I'll 3 or 4 of their own.

Back to the question in point, it seems to easy. I've never seen a successful attack. The only exception is one of my settlements is on occasion attaxked by mirelurks. There has been one death. I'm hoping now that I've started over on survival mode I will see attacks that test my defenses.

I love the SM attacks where they have a Suicider with them....It's so satisfying to destroy the entire invading force with a single pistol shot.

Question- can settlers actually die in the attacks? I've only seen them get "knocked down" the way companions do.

Yes they can. As long as they don't have a name they can die. I've had Minutemen die at least. I know you can kill a settler though so I'm sure they can.

Oh i did saw one of those during my trip to the city, it was a akaward but fun moment during the exploration !

I still got a ton of stuff to do in the game so I guess maybe its just a matter of time before I see more serious attacks happening soon...hopefully

The last attack I had in Egret Tours Marina consisted of like 8 raiders, of which 4 had full Raider Power armor, one of them had a missile launcher and the others were really well equipped aswell. It was a real firefight and I had to repair alot after it was over. Glad none of my settlers died but I guess I was just lucky, could have ended badly for some of them. If my Marina wasn't so well protected they would have [censored] the place up before going down.

Often times the attacks are pretty minor but sometimes they give you a nice hectic fight and that's what I also wanna see more of! :)

Anyone know of a way to prevent the bug where you can't complete the "defend settlement" misc quest? I always have to resort to realoading a save before the quest if I don't want the settlement destroyed since I can't complete it. When I've killed all the attackers the quest remains active until it automatically fails.

More annoying than easy. You feel like you have to do them, but generally turrets and what-not can kill everything and you just show up to loot the corpses. I would rather get on with what I was trying to do before being interrupted.

They can die... but its difficult for them to die... they go down like companions.. but if they are hit while down they die but enemies wont target them while they are downed so unless they are hit by explosives or stray bullets they just get back up.

Nothing more satisfying lol, until you fire the bullet in VATS slowly watch the bullet go past Dogmeat who is in the blast radius. That one bullet turned into a Stimpak too.

Only had the one attack so far, on a settlement in the south ( a beach? ). Hadnt done anything with it. I fast travelled over there expecting a couple of raiders or something, and was greeted by half a dozen super mutants and two hounds. I play on hard and was level 10 at the time.......as i was hopelessly out gunned with only one settler there to help out, i left and didnt go back.

Seem hard enough to me!

Far, far too easy for the base in my sig. Got 200+ defence now and by the time I've heard gunshots it's all over, 3 or 4 dead super mutants outside the perimeter. I reckon it should scale with defence. I should be getting attacked by at least 20 mutants at once.

man, i want a settlement attack.......Im lvl 28, and about 50-60 hours in the game. Have not had a settlement get attacked. I wonder if your defense level in the settlements makes it happen more or less. I have like 8, and the defense on them all is over the top.

Playing on Very Hard I can safely say I was completely annihilated by a horde of ghouls. I hadn't seen any point investing time in the small settlement and just kind of left it to fend for itself. When I saw it was being attacked, I fast traveled there to help and BOOM, ghouls everywhere. All I had ammo for at the time was my shotgun. 2 shots and a swarm of fast moving ghouls that take out the one settle there does not help

I'm just not seeing them. I keep getting missions to deal with raiders, mutants, kidnappings, etc, but only one actual attack.

Finished main story and my 10+ people settlements generally have 2 or 3 turrets (just enough to keep them out of the red). Some smaller settlements are totally undeveloped.

Anyone know why I'm not getting attacked?

Seems random to me, I spent 10 hours once building with no attacks, then the other day I was dropping stuff off, 2 attacks.

I guess you built your walls nuke proof

I wonder though if it is possible to shoot the mini nuke they are holding in their hands.

I also have seen very minimal attacks...

None of my may main settlements ever got attacked... just the piddly ones that I never did anything with.

Not sure if Sanctuary can get attacked... It would be amusing to seem them try to run my gauntlet of turrets.

I'm level 50 and on survival difficulty... I'd think that if it were going to happen that it would have by now.
