Settlements need more heat.

Mount and Blade had campaign difficulty sliders, separating the campaign and the combat difficulties from one another.

Fallout 4 changed its focus from rp to sims like strategy. The settlements are a major part of the game sandbox design, but they feel unfinished and never reach beyond the limitations of their sims design.

What the game needs is more Mount and Blade - end game with back and forth settlements conquest After all, we keep hearing about generations of struggles between the people of the commonwealth and the harsh wasteland, we need to feel it aswell.

We need to feel that we can lose.

it really depends on the character you are running. If you run a power armor character everything will be trivial. As to how difficult it can be, i had one fight that I struggled through. 5 raiders in power armor and 2 legendary raiders attacked one of my settlements.

I'd love Mount & Blade style additions. Especially difficult sieges/assaults. So far my only difficult defense was guarding Ten Pines against a raider group that had a legendary and two with missile launchers.
