Settlements - snap lock and placement failures

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:12 pm

So I am really enjoying settlements. But I have been having some issues building.

I can't get all features to snap together. For example, I can't seem tohttp://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=562087908 to create a balcony all the way around the second floor. And I am having issues with http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=562087718 on the second floor. Anyone have any tips for creating good structures?

Are there any items that can be unlocked, other than artillery and a certain quest related machine?

Can I place items around or will they just physics away/get stolen/disappear (for example, I want to stock the shelves of http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=562090382).

Ok. So for your first picture, you can't place your floor because of the wooden fence walls on the other balconies.

2nd picture the doorway is on TOP of the floor, it can only be attached on the side of the floor.

I placed the wooden fence on the balcony after I was unable to place the floor in order to try and stop settlers falling to their doom while I sought a solution.

As for the door, if I move the balcony floor piece I can snap the doorway to the rest of the wall. But then I can't place the floor piece on the other side. Is it possible to have 'interior' doorways that have floor on either side?

Not sure if it'll work, but the metal doors (not the prefab Doorway but the Walls-Doors) are pretty narrow and might work for what you need.
