Settler kidnapped - please change location

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 7:16 pm

Hello,

It is always the same, each time a settler have been kidnapped, it is to Hospital Medford...

And this is not logical, because Super Mutants are known to eat human, not asking for money to liberate them...

So please Bethesda change the location of kidnapped peoples, and make it more credible and attractive (randomization needed)...

I would have been nice if these radiant quests could have been randomized a little better so they don't feel extremely boring after the 10th one.

I think I did one about five times once to the same location, last time it's like the settler kidnapped themselves and hid in a closet, cause there weren't any raiders... they are just screwing with us....

Not to mention it's the same farms and farmers that constantly get kidnapped. Talk about dumb!

It's always the same place. Randomized places would be welcome. After the first 5 times I just either pay up or let them keep the hostage.

Is there an option to pay the ransom after finding out where they are? Each time I'm sent to Medford, I groan and want to fork over the caps.

It would be nice if they sent us all over the map for these radiant missions & not to the same 5 or 10 places

These quests are 'randomized' but it seems to work more along the lines of each person being sent to the same 'random' location over and over and over. For many people it's the Corvega Assembly Plant. For me it's the Federal Rations Stockpile and the National Guard Training Yard. I've cleared those places out so many times now that I just throw caution to the wind and run straight through because I know where everyone is at. I just go straight for the 'target' enemy, take them out, and get out of there.

Just pay the ransom and be done with the quest. That's what I did after I fought the kidnapper for just one time. There is another kidnapping quest, a REAL quest called "Kill Sinjin", that offers a much more satisfying hostage-rescuing experience.

If Bethesda doesn't fix it (and they probably won't) I hope modders will step in if at all possible and randomise for us.

Yeah they will...make cages and stocks in our settlements so settlers can throw rotten mutfruit at their faces.

And this is why I want to clear out my settlers.

I want to flush these dumbasses away and start over. Especially my current bugged Abernathy Farm with their stuck-&-unfinishable quest.

Not sure why but in my campaign playthrough with well over 200+ hours, i have had exactly one kidnapping quest come up. Am extremely thankful given threads like these - and totally believe them - but unsure why i am seemingly immune to this hassle.

In this main character campaign, i have done the full MM / settlement building and have 20+ settlements, almost all of them at capacity with my current 34 max settlers per settlement.

Would like to know what i must be accidentally doing to avoid what sounds like is a frequent hassle for those afflocted, so that i can comsciously do it to ensure i do t get it on new playthrough.

Rotten mutfruit? I'm giving my settlers billiard balls and sharp rocks to huck at 'em.

Radials do seem to get really repetitive before long, although at what point it loops varies for players. For me, the Slog kept asking me to kill ghouls. I started 'punishing' them by scrapping their decorative and luxury items.

For me it's been Raiders at the BADTFL Regional Office ... over and over again. I just recently got a couple with Super Mutants at Medford Hospital, though, which seemed a bit more challenging/satisfying. I'm sure that won't last (the challenging/satisfying part anyway).

I keep having to rescue Mrs. Abernathy or her daughter Lucy. Usually from Backstreet Apparel or the Federal Ration Stockpile. I swear if Mr. Abernathy ever gets kidnapped I'm letting him die.
