Although settlement system in FO4 did take away some other possibilities as others discussed, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
It was fun building structure, living there.. and see attackers attack and defenders defend.
However, I cannot help myself from finding most of my settlers... pretentious and fake.
I thought it was general belief that nobody in post-apocalyptic wasteland is innocent.
They must have stole and killed to get that far in their life especially out of big city.
As far as I am concerned.. majority of my settlers should be retired raiders, gunners, scavengers... who got tired of their extreme life style.
I don`t expect them to build brand new raider city or new gunners hideout or anything...
but why do they only have one set of personality / behavior?
Couldn`t some of them have little bit of raider attitude or at least act like fully grown wastelander that went through hardship unimaginable before settling down?
I have built all my settlements quite extensively.. but every single person in there feels same, act same and behave same.
Worst thing they can tell me is "I cannot talk I got work to do.".. although they do try kill me if I fail pickpocketing.
They are just sheep.. being bred by me. Not real people with past and personality.
I do get tired of them acting so innocent and nice.. when they should know better about commonwealth than myself.
Maybe I am asking too much, but I hope this gets addressed if future Bethesda game decides to continue the settlement system.
