All newcomers will be subject to the hierarchy present at the moment in this settlement. You will follow his orders, and treat him with respect. This goes for whomever else may come to lead the settlement in time.

For the first few days of a newcomer's residence here, he or she will unconditionally accept that he or she will be watched by myself, the Spymaster, in order to ascertain his or her true intentions. If I find you worthy of my, and our, trust, you will be left in peace.

If any newcomer, or resident, is found to be contravening the basic rules of residence in this settlement (these will be further elaborated by the captain of the guard), he or she will be subject to a punishment deemed fitting by the captain of the guard, and Ikarion, whether that be permanent exile, or death.

Intro: THe night of battle with goblins was a deciding factor, Ikarion perished allong with Erik Du'gaal in a mad attempt to save the settlment,do th their valor The settlment survived. It has been a month since the battle and even though the night was won,the settlment is in need of a leader. A after the combat with goblins Raiden appeared, and has assumed coomand of the guard...the story begins early in the morning...

IC:
Raiden looks out across the mountains, his blue Gi fluttering in the wind, his altmer features framed by the rising sun, soon the others would be awake and the decision for a new leader will be played out. he hoped their would be no more blood shed.

raggi observes the newcomer Raiden - trying to assess his capabilities and intentions. About all he can tell is that the Altmer seems to thrive on drama - and is early to rise.

Sad about Eric - the boss was ok and to his surprise raggi misses the crazy man - he was fun. But who would have thought the goblins would have had the cunning to split their force into two? Still there was nothing he could have done - he did not even know about the second force until it was too late - he and the others who faced the first party were already spent by the time the second party struck. Still the Settlement needed a new leader badly and it was unlikely the spymaster would want that.

Gathering his hunting gear raggi slips away. Maybe he would return a bit earlier than usual just to observe things - there never was an Altmer who was not convinced he is the best, so raggi could guess that this one was shaping up for a power play. Of course there is the delicate matter of the Count's assent to any new leader - such a Settlement as this could not just be set up in the Imperial Province without permission - and Ikarion had to have had that permission plus legal title to the land. And Raiden would also have to gain the blessing of the spymaster. raggi wonders what the Altmer has up his sleeve.

Sigormund awoke early. He was caughing violently, not a rare occurence these days.

After the battle with the goblins, Sigormund had spent 3 days in a coma while several mages struggled to heal his wounds and save him. It was said that his heroism in the woods was the only thing that stopped both full parties of goblins from destroying the entire settlement outright. His reward had been his own lodge, the one that he had been working so hard to build that first fateful day.

He had healed well, other than a constant nagging cough, stemming from the punctures in his lungs which had been impossible to fully repair.

His hair had been cut short, and he had many scars criss-crossing his face. He now looked far older than the boy of 20 he really was. Sigormund Goblin-Hater was his new name, and he wore it well.

He dressed in a loose-fitting plaid shirt and work pants, rolled up his sleeves, and stepped out into the early sunlight to set about his day of work as the settlement's resident woodcutter.

OOC: i suggest we all make up a new char sheet based on our old one (+1 month's time) and send them to Havok so he can put them all on the first post. it makes it so much easier to keep track of everyone.

Raiden's almond shaped eyes closed in on the dunmer, they all thought they were so superior, and since they had with stood the empire, they were better than anyone. Raiden Noded to the man. He thought about all that was happening. Clearly the two most prominent choices would be the Nord who was allmost slayed, or The spymaster. Raiden didnt know which would move first. he toyed with the thread-of-gold Lining on the handle of his katana. He walked with grim determination towards the apple orchards. Once he reached there he came upon Ikarion's grave. They say he fought like a mad-man hurling javelins of magicka and summoning creatures from the depth of oblivion, and his large sword sung as it divided goblin flesh from bone, and that he had allmost halted the goblin advance until he was pin-cushioned by the goblins. There is something going on here, deeper than it seems. Raiden reached up and cupped a rich, red apple in his hand and tore it from the branch, lifting it to his mouth he took a large bite from the jucy fruit.

OOC: id like everyone updated,i want to know who dropped out, allso Tayroc, stop being so liberal with yourself. The only reason im allowing it is because of the time spent by your posts.

raggi passes out of the settlement with an uncomfortable pressure right between his shoulderblades - he sort of feels that he is being weighed and dismissed. Must be the Altmer! That's fine with him really - let others hog the glory and fame.

He checks his hunting gear - especially a number of very useful and powerful potions that he has been working on. He carefully ties his bow to his pack and then choosing a number of the potions he divides them into three, and drinks a third of the chosen ones, one after the other. As he feels them begin to take effect he carefully chooses the route he has surveyed and settles into a very careful lope as he passes through the forest and quickly out of sight and sound of the Settlement. Once free of the forest he really piles on the miles. The meadows and copses of Cyrodiil flash past him in a neverending stream and the wind of his passing parts the grass before and after him as if a gigantic bird had flown past.

What do the Imperials know of alchemy? They make one potion and call it 'strong' - but in Morrowind we make a hundred so that each boosts the next. Mind you he thinks, there was that tale of the Colovian who created a scroll that allowed him to jump a thousand paces into the air - too bad he forgot about the landing - raggi laughs with glee - first ever flat Collovian hat by all accounts ... this is fun - must do it more often. That Breton girl at the Orc Fortress on the Northern Coast of Vvardenfell near the Urshilaku Camp really knew her stuff - what a delightful idyll that was once I had spent a few months geting to know her - and her mastery of Alchemy would have made the the Nerevarine jealous. Wonder if they ever met?

Oops nearly hit that charging Minotaur - poor thing would have been flattened! Nearly there now.

raggi slows quite a bit as he approaches the Count's seat of power, just enough so the guards can keep their feet as he whisks through the City Gate and into an store where he can sell a few quite valuable findings and potions to a shopkeeper he knows in exchange fo ra bit of finery - and behold Headman raggi Chieftain of the small, but famous Ashlander Antopulobolusis Tribe leaves the shop at a remarkably brisk pace en route for an audience with the Count.

Another series of potions - glug, glug and here I am - raggi the Radiant, affable, urbane, the immediate darling of the Court - highly Intelligent, Charismatic and all with no after effects or later antagonism from bespelling others. Wonderful what a simple 200 point charisma potion can achieve. And a 100 point Int pot so I don't make any mistakes.

Lucky the Count is in residence ... and yes of course he is curious about the stir among his courtiers and bids me before him to chat.

Gauging him to a nicety I adjust my posture to match his preferences and commence: 'Well my lord you will have heard of the Goblin Raid on the new settlement that you authorised one stalwart by the name of Ikarion - the man died an absolute hero - but the Settlers know of no heir and it looks as though there is like to be a struggle for the succession between the dead heroe's chief of intelligence, another hero of the battle (a Nord) seems to be favoured and an Altmer newcomer of no mean ability. It is my thought that you might wish to send a worthy courtier to mediate this affair given that it is by your grant that this Settlement is founded. I can provide swift means of transportation there should that be required.

The Count regards raggi steadily, somewhat blinded by raggi's natural charm and wit he suggests: " Surely Headman this is a task that you could take upon yourself?"

raggi takes a moment to consider this - realising that he should have expected such a response and replies: " You do me great honor my lord but a simple mer such as myself can take on only so many responsibilities and I feel that the Gods wish me to remain true to the Antopulobolinaesis Tribe - they are mine after all and therefore my first responsibility."

The Count weighs this and sagely nods - "very well, the Court is minded to send one of it's more experienced young courtiers - she will meet you in the my withdrawing room - through that arch. I must say it has been a pleasure to meet you and I hope you will visit here from time to time?"

raggi expresses his delight and smoothly withdraws ... plenty of potions left we should be back at the Settlement in a couple of hours before anything untoward happens (hopefully) and the new leader of the Settlement, whoever it is will have the blessing of the Count. Just a few more hours - hope this courtier likes running - raggi grins - well my natural charm should fix that - and who knows - if she's really pretty.
