Several questions regarding equipping settlers.

Hey guys, I've been looking around and I couldn't find info on any of these questions so I was wondering if I could get some help.

1) What happens when you equip a limitless potential on a settler and the settlement gets attacked?

I've read that they will not use their weapons if the do not have at least a full clip and the clip size on this is unlimited. Does this mean they won't fire the weapon or am I ok?

2) Is a Limitless Potential Laser Musket a legit drop?

2a) If so, is this a viable weapon for settlement defense?

I'd rather not console mod the game for it because of how broken it is, but I am just curious if this is something I should go looking for.

3) How frequent are synth infiltration attacks in mid-late (35-40s) game?

I'm wondering if it would be wise to equip everyone in a settlement with high tier weapons and armor as well as set turrets around my farms or is this over-reacting?

Thank you for your help.

NPCs don't need a full clip of ammo, they only need one unit of that gun's ammunition to be able to use it. With that in mind, they probably should be okay to use Never-Ending weapons.

Never-Ending Laser Musket is impossible, but you can find an Automatic Laser Musket that cranks out a shot with every... crank. It's interesting, not sure if I would give it to any NPCs though.

Don't know about synth attacks.

Thanks. In this case, I'll stick with the heavily modded auto laser rifles. Or more Fatman with MIRV upgrades. I just thought having 20+ settlers who can each solo an Alpha Deathclaw in 1 hit was funny.
