Severin Manor mannequin duplication glitch

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 4:26 pm

It seems that Severin Manor duplicated the items i kept on the mannequins when i took them off and put different armours on then left. Coming back I found that i now have two Zahkriisos masks and 2 telvanni robes.

Good to know. It's funny that when I want to use this bug to make extra armor it never works! It only bugs out when I use it to display armor.

Do the mannequins move around too? These 2 bug types seem to be coming and going depending on the patch and/or DLC involved.

The manikin glitch seems to be a reoccurring thing. Hearth-fire has the same thing 3 of the 7 manikins will replicate armor. It only seems to happen with certain manikins and certain armor pieces, not even complete sets. Your Windhelm house manikin will frequently do the same thing. This is pretty well documented.

My opinion;
If you need the money, go for the exploit. If you think this is somehow "cheating", then don't. I promise not to tell anyone (LOL)

Spoiler
ebony armor, shrouded (thief's armor) and Ancient Falmer Armor (Snow Elves - DG) seem to replicate on a pretty regular basis.
You can always test this: Place a set of ebony armor on a manikin, exit the house containing the manikin, reenter the house, remove the armor from the manikin, exit the house, reenter the house to see if the armor replicated. Sometimes it takes more than one try. Replacing the duplicating armor with a different type of armor may stop the manikin from duplicating armor (my personal experience)

I've used this glitch to my advantage with multiple sets of Ancient Falmer Armor, which I upgraded to Legendary and equiped to Serana (who looks badass in the armor). Also gave her Harkon's Sword which seems only right being it was her father's.

... Also my Mannequins in my raven rock house actually move around...

Annoying little wanderers.
There is a fix, though.
- Click where the mannequin is supposed to be; you'll get a cursor
- Remove an item, stay in the menu and give it right back
- Exit the menu and the mannequin will snap back to it's pedestal

The mannequins should then stay in place. At least they have for my characters. Your mileage may vary.
Hope that helps
