Shadow castersspotlights stopped working

Post » Sun Jun 09, 2013 2:58 pm

Hei

I've ran into a problem... Long time ago all shadow casters in my project used to work. In-Game and in CK. Now I realized that not a single of them works.
I have no idea why. So as you can see in the screenshot I have 2 normal lights and 1 shadow caster that I'm focused on. Spotlights/Shadow casters do not work at all for some reason.
On the screenshot the Light FX button is toggled off. But it doesn't light when it's on either.
Ive seen topics like this by googling and on these forums as well, but they were no help.
As you can see in the Preferences of the CK, Shadow box is ticked, so it should work.. but it doesn't.

What is my problem? How do I fix it

Edit: After editing it back and forth, the cone turned red, as many other people mentioned when they had this problem.
Edit2: Now the cone is white again, but still. No light emission.

just a bit of poking into the dark :-)

.) you can't have more than i think 4 shadow casters in one interior

.) when you "changed back and forth", did this involve changing between non- and shadow-casters? if so, check in your lights ref extra tab what it says for radius, if you switch between lights with different values, they tend to get set to negative values

.) make sure fov is above 0 in ref light tab, same for fade

.) enabling parents etc...? roombounds vs. portal strict lights?

1. As I mentioned. I currently only have a total of 3 lights in that cell. 2 of them are non-Shadowcasters and they work just fine. Only one of them is the shadow caster that doesn't work at all.
2 and 3. http://i.imgur.com/h7Tcqnb.jpg

4. I've never parented any lights. I didn't place out any roombounds/portals yet.
I've ticked and unticked that Casts Shadows tickbox. No changes.

Also, Even when I add new lights, the non-casting work fine, the shadow ones don't light at all.

Edit:
I guess I solved my problem, to a level..

Appears that

BleakFallsSunlight01 * Won't work at all as a light source
The 2 others that I just added to test work just fine.

Damn.. I've spend so many hours trying to fix that single spot light... What a waste...

Finally I got it what I wanted... ;)

Still a lot of tweaking and so on... but ye.. At least it works.
