Shamefully poor performance on NVIDIA Kepler 600 series?!!

Post » Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:59 pm

Intel Core i5-3210M
6GB RAM
NVIDIA GT 650M 2GB (driver 314.07)
Crucial M4 256GB
Windows 8 Pro 64bit

Can't even manage 20fps on lowest?!! The beta ran at 40fps on high. I bought it based on that fact. I didn't expect performance to get worse?!! Have I wasted my money or is there a patch incoming to fix the terrible consoleport-esque optimisation?

You're not the only one; many of us have suffered extreme fps loss since the beta, it's all over the forums on the past few pages... Hopefully they can address this issue soon, but I'm sure they are aware of it as there are numerous posts about bad fps despite having really good hardware.

only 6gb ram? I'd recommend 8gb minimum. plus depends on your hard drive, whether it's high-performance or not.

Really ? 6GB of RAM will not be a bottleneck, and HDD only affects loading times not FPS.

It's 1/4 what the GTX 680 is and has half the memory bus.

I'm sorry dude; that's just the danger of laptops I'm afraid: No Scalability and significantly lower specs and clocks than desktop counterparts.

Oh, and it doesn't help that your i5 is actually just a Hyperthreaded Dual core (about 35% faster than a non-hyperthreaded model, at absolute best).

You're bottlenecking like a madman. Tweak your driver configs and game settings. It's all you can do in your case.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.
