Share Your Excitement for Skyrim!

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:31 pm

I have been checking the UESP daily for at least a month now for news. I Have been discussing with my friends about how they NEED to announce this game and we've been conversing on the rumors and such. I even said earlier today with some friends (seriously): "I think they might announce something tonight since Spike's VGA's are on." And I am so glad I was right! I've been speculating that it'd be Skyrim, too. So pumped!

Judging by the EPIC classic theme at the end of the teaser, I suspect that Jeremy Soule is still the composer for the game's soundtrack. I really hope so!! His TES IV OST on my computer has over 500 COMPLETE play-throughs per song. That's over 13,000 total song plays! It's actually on right now... :D I have over 400 hours of game-play on ONE character in Oblivion for 360, with a few others with at least 100. I know SO much about the lore and have played Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Arena. I have the PC version as well and have played with and without mods.

This trailer is completely epic and it gives me GREAT hopes for 2011's GOTY. If the soundtrack is similar, and the magic and awesomeness is similar and everything, just better and MORE, then I will be playing for YEARS to come. Again, SO PUMPED.

I have watched the trailer so many times I cannot even count.

So, please, share your excitement with me!! :D

Bethesda<3

EDIT: As seen in this screenshot, I have literally been looping the video for about 40 minutes and just listening to it in the background. :D http://i53.tinypic.com/2119zwx.jpg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPYhG1g44Lk. I'm not sure why, but I'm going to say it's to take the stress off the other videos. :D

EDIT2: I saw this coming. Viacom has taken all re-uploaded TES V trailer videos down. D:
EDIT3: Apparently Viacom "undeleted" the videos as mine is back up and viewable. Strange.

Oh, I'm pretty damn excited for this. Ever since my mother bought Morrowind for me back in '04 (goold old days) I've been a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series. As far as I'm concerned, there are no better videogames than these, and to finally get a new one after an agonizingly long wait of 4 years (which is fully justified, I'm sure) is a dream come true.

This is going to be a party!

When it was announced, I shaked a lot and nearly fainted. I was speechless, and afterwards I had a terrible headache due to massive excitement.
I am being serious.

Hahaha! Great! I was at a friends house, so I seriously SPED home to rip open my door and slam my fist powerfully into my power button and get to the reveal site. :D

I knew VGAs were on sometime today, so I haphazardly entered 'Elder Scrolls' into Google Search, this time without any expectations of a new game - as my hopes had been dashed many times before. And then it showed up and I was shocked that it was actually finally here. :celebration: Shocked and ridiculously excited. It's actually a bit sad.

I don't even know HOW THE HELL I found out about it today. I literally DO NOT remember how, even though it was at 4:00 today that I found out. And the fact that I SOMEHOW found out about it on THE DAY it was released makes me feel psychic. MAYBE I saw a comment on one of Zero Punctuation's videos on The Escapist, I don't know... I have short term memory. Kinda. What was this thread about, again?

I completely forgot about the VGAs tonight. I was gone out, and when I came home I checked the forums. I saw a link to the trailer, squealed in delight, watched it a few times and was really freaking happy! I then posted the trailer on facebook so my friends would know. :foodndrink:

Definitely will be worth the wait! That's it, though. The wait. It's gonna svck. 11 months?! D:
I am still super glad they waited so long to even announce this, though. This way, time from announce to release can be very short, meaning hype won't have time to die, and we'll have (hopefully) pretty frequent news.

Dude, I completely believe you. Effects were similar for a lot of nerds like us, I guarantee. :D

That being said, many of the reactions I've seen on here make my reaction seem quite normal.

Yeah, it's a smart move. I'll be watching the internet (and this forum) with two eyes and the Hubble Space Telescope for the coming year.

I feel the same way. It was the same way when my cat had her kittens. I literally think I am psychic sometimes... maybe we're long-lost relatives? ;D

I saw it in the bar on the right. I remembered the VGAs were on tonight, I looked it up, saw I missed the first half, came onto the forums, saw it, my heart just sort of started beating really hard, I immediately navigated, saw the trailer, and freaked out (people on the forum Minecraft server will testify to that).

Since then, I've calmed down quite a bit. It doesn't feel real to me. Yet.

I was pretty happy. But I was playing Super Castlevania IV at the time so I couldn't do much but go [censored] crazy in Dracula's castle.

I was going to watch White Christmas to get into a holiday state of mind (my school's mood right now is in the Finals mindset), and suddenly noticed on Kotaku about the VGA's. I remembered Bioware's teaser,, so I wanted to watch. I don't have a TV in my dorm, so I had to hunt for Streams.

My room mate was on Facebook at the time, and I could only imagine what he was thinking as I was talking out loud my excitement when Todd Howard appeared. Before that, when the robed guys came out, I was chuckling, but when he came out, I was thinking "ELDER SCROLLS, ELDER SCROLLS, ELDER SCROLLS."

I didn't want to get my hopes up, so I skeptically looked at the trailer as maybe a new IP, which was short lived after the narrator mentioned the Elder Scrolls.

Needless to say, I started clapping and anticipating the title, and Skyrim popped up, to which I recalled other sites speculating Skyrim as a possible area.

Yeah. That was my full experience. Needless to say, when my computer is built in May, I will be ready for this game. :celebration:

repost from another thread:

I just got up - extra early to try to find a stream and watch the rest of the VGAs (GMt+1 here).
Too bad the one I bookmarked the day before went down, so I looked for a new one.

That's when I saw "Elder Scrolls V: watch trailer here".

Then I just had so shout "SKYRIM !!" and delay breakfast for another hour or so :D
