Share your hide outs

Post » Mon Jan 17, 2011 12:33 am

I have just reached level 30, and on the way there, I had a plan to Role Play and make my own hideout. I picked the drainage chamber underneath the Broadcast Tower KB5. I have layed mines at the interior and exterior entrance so if I am being chased or if someone decides to snoop around they get a blast from the explosion.

id hate to say, but mines wont stop much if your level 30. but if you really want to try to fortify a drainaige chamber put around ALOT of mines, and space them out REALLY well, if you sapce them close together they all may blow with one step.

if i had to get a shelter i would probably choose... yao gui bear tunnels. the bears wont bother me (animal friend) and i have my own personal guards.

This might be kind of lame, but The Super Duper Mart makes a great place. Stuff in containers doesn't disappear and no one goes in there. This works better if your home is at Tenpenny Tower because your Megaton home is really close to this.

Instead of mines, use garden gnomes! No enemy, no matter how tough, would dare to approach an army of gnomes.

Actually, I find mines extremely effective. I mined my Megaton house, and scored two kills on a certain person and his buddy, who were trying to steal some things from me, and a minefield is a very good idea in front of the Super Duper Mart, as at least for me, a lot of crazy people show up there for me.

A nice hideout, is across from the Arlington Library. However, you must evict the current tenant, who is well protected, and deal with three soldiers each time you visit. I often choose the Mechanist's Forge or Gallo's Hideout. You get a nice TV and a clean bed at Gallo's.

You can take over Dukov's place if you don't mind a lot of bad karma for cleaning up and arranging in there. HIghly highly recommended to extend your minefield away from the front door, and into mid-street.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Farragut_West_Station at location B.

Pretty nice place to hole up once all the ghouls, molerats and radroaches have been dealt with. Bed, containers and several different ways to access the hideout.

Not a bad idea at all, I may even move into there, lay mines in the parking lot.

Also there is a randomly generated mini-encounter around that area and I could take advantage by traveling around every loadout.

Is there a bed in Super-Duper Mart? If so, that's a really good idea; constantly getting a random encounter from fast-traveling might be a little irritating though.

I use a room in the Citadel for my main and I'm planning on maybe wiping out the Talon Co. and taking Fort Bannister for myself on my second runthrough. I might also try and live out of Fort Independence, I <3 the Outcasts.

I like Jury Street Metro. There's a bed, a worktable, benches, and further down you have a pet Molerat named Pumpkin I believe, and a machine to create that Wondermeat out of molerat. The real big plus for me was that it was near the center of the game world, which helps if you don't fast travel.

I believe there are nasty, filthy, Raider mattresses in some of the back rooms of the Super-Duper Mart, but you will never get "well rested". I had not considered a secondary hideout. If I did, I would want a bed that will let me be "well rested". Are there such places available? And doesn't the Super-Duper Mart repopulate with Raiders over time. I know the loot won't, but I believe the Raiders do.

If I disarm the Megaton bomb, then my hideout is obvious. My own house, nothing beats that.
If I don't disarm it, I use the Brandice house in Grayditch. It's quickly accessible from the fast-travel arrival point, it's secure (never had anything stolen), and it's reasonably close to most of the places where I'm likely to keep going (Megaton, Rivet City, the Citadel, the Mall).
Beyond that, any place with a bed and no enemies will do.

That is an awesome spot, do you have a DC Hide out?

Nah. I didn't want to have to deal with the Metro Tunnels every time I wanted to drop by the place.

Up the collapsed overpass from the crossways east of Canterbury Commons, towards Grisly Diner, there's a cavern under a section of the collapsed roadway. It's actually quite spacious when you are inside, and lights up quite well from your light. Just have to chuck any gear on the floor. But it's a place to spend the night.

The house in Megaton is my home. But I have a pied-a-terre in Point Lookout Motel with loads of stuff stashed in the trunk.

There are some cleaner mattresses in the restrooms, not covered with gore and bodyparts. None of them will get you well rested, though. Only the beds in Megaton and TT do that.

And no, the raiders in SDM do not respawn.

Someone would say it sooner or later, so I will just come out with it. The sniper shack near that gas station. You have two pet radroaches, unfortunately they are always hostile, so if you have companions with you, they will always kill them :|. There are a decent amount of storage's and you get a unique weapon there. There's a bed (I think), and you can snipe Super Mutants and Enclave soldiers if you want.

There's a disused drainage chamber somewhere in the mall, that is my DC base, that is once you clear out the mirelurks, plus I made a fireing range out of all the random crap in there.

Sniper Shack with a perimeter of land mines to keep away the enclave, super mutants, and annoying talon company bands.

Damn, I wanted to live out of the AntAgonizer's lair but she doesn't seem to have any storage areas. My plans for world domination, ruined! :brokencomputer:

Hopefully the Mechanist has a locker.
