Yup, that's how overseer Almodovar's regime was - up until the main character's dad left, of course.

Sole survivor from what you see around you as u awaken. It's an RPG.
They also said they didn't want to give too much of the plot away.
So they are totally entitled to stretch/hide the truth in a pre game release.
Why would they program the child appearance to be a mix of mother/father if after 5 minutes it was completely irrelevant? Any game maker with a conscience would spend that effort on the bigger picture.
But still. You could be right.
Shaun of the Undead, or Dawn of the Undead if a girl, will be a ghoul.
That is my bet.
Four months to go before we find out who is right.
I don't think the spouse is alive. There would be too many chances for people to get pissed off. They say one thing wrong and people would be all "That is not how my husband would ever speak to me!" Probably a doomed character since you could potentially play as them.
But the baby just doesn't make sense dying. If it was doomed to die then why wouldn't they just put the spouse in and leave it at that. That at least makes sense to the game mechanics, you can choose to be the husband or wife, but the baby is an extra. You are either going to have to save your baby or they are the antagonist (my bet is on the latter).
I think they both die in an hilariously failed attempt at giving feels.
Well I meant at the start but sure, they can did later too I guess. So long as get to act like they never existed or at least to give no [censored]s about them.
I've played through Fallout 3 4-5 times, so yeah, I'm well aware of that. I've also played enough computer games to know that it'd be pretty silly to give away a main plot twist already in the intro, don't you agree?
Really? What was false in my statement? It's not like Alphonse Almodovar allowed people to leave and enter vault 101 at will. He made ONE exception. And then possibly there may have been one or two escapes in his time (judging by the armoured vault suit in Megaton) but that's not really something we know fully.
Except that in the E3 presentation, it is clearly shown that the baby's named Shaun.
But ain't you going to play a pre-teen Bubblegum female with high level angst and deadly samurai talents?
Kind of makes the mother and daughter relationship out of whack. She will seem older than you!
aye I think we can all predict that the main characters family is gonna play center stage in the plot the kid might be immune to radiation induced mutation like the one in the pitt dlc was the institute or whatever the big bad android hating organization that was mentioned in fallout 3 probably has the kid along with the main characters spouse. of course all this doesn't matter if your going to do as I do and ignore the main quest on one or more files and pretend none of that stuff ever happened to you and your just another waster.
I hope Shaun is not the scripted baby and it's possible for you to at least choose the gender or at least the name of the offspring since Todd said over 1000 popular baby names were recorded for Cogsworth to say. I'm assuming not all baby names recorded were all boy names.
I'm sure many would disagree, but I wouldn't mind being able to sway Shaun's outlook through speech and maybe even use him as a companion to fight whoever killed your wife and Vault 111's residents.
If you are forced to kill you son Shaun, maybe this may be a fitting song in the end credits

IMO the only redeeming narrative trait for Shaun to be a major character would be if it turns out he is a villain / antagonist. Chasing your dad in FO3 was a mediocre plot. Chasing our son in FO4 would be unimaginative, uncreative and boring. Unless - like I said - Shaun turns out to become an advlt and a villain.
There are no names recorded for your baby.... The recorded names are for the player not for the baby...
This bit of info seriously needs to be stickied somewhere cuz I can already see a lot of people storming in here on release day wanting to know why not everyone is calling them dike.
