Hi,
thanks for MGEXE. I can say in any words, how much I appreciated this!
Now my questions:
- Latest version is 0.9.8, but properties of MGEXEgui.exe says it's version 0.9.0.0. Is something wrong?
- HDR Eye Adaptation shader unfortunately kill my FPS too much (7-10 FPS). Is there any alternatives (like ENB) to get Morrowind a little bit more contrasted?
- I know... MGEXE is not very optimalised, but during playing Morrowind my CPU and GPU is used only about 50-80%. No way to force the maximum possible clock? (i5 M 460 @ 2,8 GHz (quad core), GeForce 420M (1GB), 4GB RAM)
- Any detailed tips for creating distant land? What hits FPS more/less, how it change in visual, etc.?
Thanks & GL with work!
1. If in doubt, redownload MGEXE and overwrite, it can't hurt...
2. frankly, ENB would be a far bigger performance hog than MGEXE, and I'm not even sure if it's compatible with Morrowind.
3. Morrowind doesn't use multiple CPU cores all that well since the game was made in a time when there were only single cores, so that may explain your problem. It's just that Morrowind.exe wants to use only one core...
4. Model Quality, exponential lighting/atmospheric scattering, min model size, world texture size, and reflections are the heavy hitters when it comes to distant land... I use a 512mb card and render 10 cells away at 75% model quality with grass at 70% density, all reflections, and a min model size of 150, and I get an fps of 20, so that may be a good base line for you...
