Have to agree with Gamelyn on the FPS opt and crosshair. :P

This is a feature I also use but forgot to list.

Wow! *drool* MGE XE is more and more better and interesting after every updates, the features introduced are just stunning! Congrats for the amazing work done on this project! :foodndrink:

Firstly, I would report some visual glitches I've noticed while testing the latest release, MGE XE 0.8.9, in a new and -almost- fresh install of Morrowind...

~ 1. Using the Underwater Wobble, Depth Of Field, Bloom Soft, Sunshafts and SSAO HQ shaders while using the most recent release of Vurt's Bitter Coast trees, I've noticed a http://twitpic.com/3te452 in game with the small fishing ships; the SSAO effect applied of the trees are visible behind the sail cloth .

~ 2. Also, as reported by some people, the water transition between the standard Morrowind view distance and the MGE XE's distand land is noticeable, resulting in a http://twitpic.com/3te50l, without underwater depth, and instead the water surface seem 'opaque' (i.e. without transparency...)

Well, except these bugs, I admit I'm really amazed by the graphic enhancements added by MGE XE in game (these shadows are just wonderful! A very great enhancement of the game experience!), and the general performances, without a very huge impact on the framerate (I can now run Morrowind with a static size of 1 for the near meshes, 150 for far ones, and 350 for very far at a view distance of 24 cells with exponential fog without making the game crashing at the loading! ^^ ).

Ah, I've also noticed the changes done of the sky and horizon rendering in the latest release. About the suggestions...

~ 1. Do you think if it will be possible to add a cloudy sky horizon, as seen in some recent games, similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl/Call Of Pripyat or Fallout 3?
Someone in these forums (starwarsguy, if my memory is exact...) has already tried to create a modified skybox and using some skies textures from S.T.A.L.K.E.R., as demonstrated in a screenshots-related topic many months ago...
Here's a very quick and fast example I've done (sorry for this ugly photoshopped picture! |D ): http://twitpic.com/3te5kh

~ 2. Sorry for asking you again this question (and also thanks a lot for your reply some days ago! ; ) ), but I tried to add the water foams and chromatic aberration from the SVN186's ingame.fx to MGE XE 0.8.9 XE Water.fx for my personal use, but I can't find the entries related to these specific water-based features in the SVN186 (the ingame.fx file is messy and too complex to search specifics elements, without any sections with simple and clear descriptions! Ouch!).
Anyone know what each sections of the SVN186 (or SVN178) ingame.fx does, and indicate the code lines of these features? : (

~ 3. Another water-related question (again!): will you add blur reflections in a future development release?

~ 4. I've heard that vtastek was working on clouds shadows projected in the landscapes... Available as native feature in MGE XE in the future? :P

~ 5. And the latest suggestion (finally!): will the Texture hook generator will be available again soon?

As usual, I wish you good luck, and congratulations for the development of this fork based on the MGE source code! Don't give up!

I thought I'd give the new version a try to see what has changed over the last couple of releases and my issues related to having character shadows on/off appear to be gone! :)

I'm also getting an orange screen when I load my saves from interiors. I can move around and access the interface but the graphics are completely absent.

My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 5450. I have shaders, shadows and distant land turned on. What's going on here? Anyone?

Ok fixed the original problem. Now the issue is... whenever I load an exterior cell my game freezes and/or crashes after several minutes of loading screen limbo. Is my graphics too crappy or is something else going on?

That's highly likely, back when I had a terrible computer I had the same problem. Try lowering the resolution/turning off antialiasing/AF/loweringdistantlandcells/etc.

If you run Morrowind with MGE disabled (remove d3d8.dll and dinput.dll) does the cursor still disappear? I may add a transparency antialias option so it doesn't affect Morrowind rendering.

Sorry for the long time without a reply. But yes, disabled, my cursor appears fine.

And there's a minor poblem I found when wandering around Solstheim - http://zapodaj.net/e189463e9bbc.jpg.html.

I have the same issue - some of the ice appears transparent when it should all be opaque. I'm not currently using any texture replacers or shaders.

O.M.F.G. Just finally found the little option in GUI for scattering.... So sneaky.

Now I can actually comment on the new tweaks... FLAWLESS

Horizon could be a bit whiter maybe imo, but the effect is exactly what I have always hoped for, makes a huge difference to not have the sky behind red mountain blend in with the foreground fog.

No new bugs yet, though I can still confirm rain disappearing when looking upwards only.

All comment I made in last post are moot.

I have the same problem too, the rain disappearing only when looking upwards, both with or without weather-related mods installed... Skybox problem? :/

I would like you implement the zoom in and zoom out camera function of standard MGE.

Ok just did a more thorough test on the rain issue, have a few discoveries for you.

-not only is the rain disappearing, but my first person hands/weapons are as well, while leaving trace ssao. This however, does not occur when there is land or statics behind the hand/weapon. For instance, half of my bow was invisible, being cut off where the rock static in front of me bordered with the sky.

-Both the rain and hands disappearing only occurs at altitude. It does not happen when I am close to sea level.

-The bug occurs when and only when looking at/within a certain radius of the sun.

To me what appears to be happening is the atmospheric scattering around the sun may be drawing in front of the rain and hands when looking directly at the area. But this isn't likely very accurate :P

Also note the the hands disappear when looking a bit closer to the sun than when the rain does.

I hope this helps track down the problem!

I would like you implement the zoom in and zoom out camera function of standard MGE.

In version 0.8.8 :
Zooming re-introduced, but with proper fov adjustment such that shaders like SSAO will not be affected by zoom level.

I'm having a strange bug in the most recent version.
When I'm above water, caustics render fine. However, when I'm in the water, instead of caustics being rendered, planes are highlighted or not depending on the direction they're facing, as seen http://img337.imageshack.us/f/mgescreenshot1.png/.

Great work, again.
Found another potential bug or kink you might want to look at, or maybe I'm just not config'ing it right.

Was checking out the draw distance by flying up into the sky, when I noticed as I got higher in the sky a strange square of water raised in elevation beneath me.

When I got to certain height it disappeared.

Is the view distance IN morrowind maxed? Otherwise things like this happen.

I don't have underwater caustic in my install either, I don't think they are enabled at all though, not a bug. The "highlighting" could be related to something else, I don't see anything weird on mine anyway.

Just install the latest release, shouldn't require any setting or editing.
