sheogorath and lorkhan

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:28 am

Ok so i got to thinking about sheo and lorkhan, or how they greatly resemble each other.

Both are tricksters
sheo constantly does it, lorkhan is thought to be this by the elves
Both were cursed
You could say jyggy is the cursed one...but i bet if i had a split personality i bet it would think i'm the...one who came after. Lorkhan was cursed by having his body ripped up and whatnot

Both have opposing sides, aludiun opposes shor, jyggy opposes sheo. Also aren't both sort of the same side of a coin? time and space, chaos and order

Sheogorath is said to have been born when lorkhan's divine spark was removed

The elves probably view lorkhan as deadra...sheogorath is a deadra, where faith can make reality maybe thats important

Are sheo and lokhorn related

Don't forget they both had their hearts cut out.

If Peryite is the Akatosh of the next kalpa, odds are Sheogorath will be the Lorkhan.

They're different actors playing the same role. Like how Zachary Quinto played Spock in the Star Trek reboot, Sheo will play Lorkhan in the reboot of Nirn.

Also it appears that mortals can mantle both of them, or at least aspects of them

Sheo is sort of a subgradient of Lorkhan, in that their mythic roles are just about identical. I wrote http://imperial-library.info/content/arden-sul-1 about this.

And the thought of Peryite's crazy side is bafflingly fascinating to me. Jyggy and Peryite as the dualistic order twins :o :intergalactic:

My view is that Sheo is actually the mirror Auriel, and Jygg is the mirror Lorkh. Before the dawn, Jygg tried to compel all the daedra into submitting to a new order. Unlike the aedra, the daedra didn't fall for it. So Sheo went, hunted Jygg down, and killed him, but in doing so became eternally tied to the fallen plotter.

But....Sheo is "The Sithis Shaped Hole" and maddess. The Space God's action allowed Sheogorath to exist, and the Space God is of Padomay and Sithis. Also something about Mundus being freedom, a completely mad idea too.

Ok, to put it another way: I think of Sheo as Bizzaro Auriel, and Jygg as Bizzaro Lorkhan. Just as Bizzaro Superman has a lot of similarities with real Lex Luthor (villainy, et cetera), Sheo is very similar to Lorkhan, and Jygg is very similar to Auriel.

Could Sheogorath be an aspect of Lorkhan? I'm thinking since Sheo was born when Lorkhans divine spark was removed, and mortals can mantle both, maybe your just mantling a part of Lorkhan?

Not really. Visual aid time!

Auriel | Sheo
Lorkh | Jygg

That line in the middle is the line between the worlds. Sheo and Auriel have the same role in their story, and Lorkh / Jygg have the same role. That makes them bizzaro copies of one another. It just so happens that Auriel would get along better with Jygg, and Lorkh would get along better with Sheo.
