Sheogorath's pretty side

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 12:01 pm

We all know Daedric Princes can assume either a male or female form, though most stick pretty much to one preferred gender. Personally, I think Sheogorath is fine just the way he is, but suppose after a long day of filling pits with clowns and casting burning canines upon superstitious Khajiit, he turns to Haskill and says, "Darn it all, I'm feeling pretty today!"
And just like that, the next poor sap to come along and summon the Prince of Madness is met by his feminine side. Disturbing notion? Yes. Yes, indeed. So I drew up a quick concept of what a Lady Sheo might look like (other than what you would get in the Shivering Isles if your character is female):

Now, before you yell blasphemy (though I can't say I'd entirely blame you if you did), this was just a dumb little idea I had for a doodle. I don't think ol' Sheo would be quite as awesome if he were a woman. But hey, it's not like it's some bizarre gender-bending experiment that conflicts with everything sane and rational. It's perfectly within the bounds of lore. And you do kind of take his job during the Shivering questline whether you're male or female....

But, I apologize either way for defiling the Madgod thusly.

I'd picture female-Sheo as looking just like regular Sheo but with boobs. However, this was really well done

I almost considered giving her a beard, but I figured I'd sacrifice realism for aesthetic appeal.

That sentence almost made sense...in a weird sort of way....

Awesome concept, and awesome picture! :D But I personally would see a genderswapped Sheo as more... crazy. Wild, ungroomed hair, mismatched clothes, maybe a creepy grin or somthing, y'know? She looks more like an uptight, proper queen than the god of madness in my opinion. :/
Just some constructive criticism, sorry.

The concept is brilliant and the painting is well done, but I have to agree with the Pup; she-Sheo would probably have a crazier visage than the one you've given her.

EDIT: I also just realized that's she's only got four fingers on her right hand... was this intentional?

Nice concept. Too pretty for the goddess of madness though IMO. It IS well done though.

There are five fingernails on the right hand though not four. Just got to look closely at the thumb and indexfinger

Thanks much fellas!

I suppose She-Sheo could be a bit more crazy looking. I was mostly going with http://www.imperial-library.info/content/guide-daedra#Daedric_Appearance concept. Specifically, this part:

Example: Sheogorath. His sphere is madness. His personality alternates between the jester and the homicidal maniac. He does not appear frightening, because he wants to seduce people down the Golden Road.
That is what is tricky about the Daedra, especially those whose sphere is obscured to mortals. You cannot look at the innocent looking Meridia or the fearsome looking Mephala, and surmise the nature of their power. They may be trying to mislead.

And how in the games he always appears as a well-dressed man with a walking stick.

But I guess when you're the Prince of Madness, you can pretty much do whatever you want.

But anyway, a sincere thanks for the feedback. I've never really posted my artwork for such a large audience before, so I was a little nervous about what would happen. (And yes, she does have all four fingers and a thumb. The thumb just got hidden a bit )
