Sheogorath in Skyrim?

I personally believe all shrines to Sheogorath are now abandoned, and that shrines to Jyggaglag are now existent.

well the PC isn't a deadra, but the PC could die and they could just grow another sheogroath, he is a plant after all

I feel like the PC in Oblivion probably just gained some kind of immortality after becoming Sheogorath, becoming a god.

Once again though I'd be happy if we just had Haskill giving the Sheogorath quest because the MadGod is out right now.

The PC did get (very limited) immortality as part of the reward for completing the Shivering Isles - you got a lesser power that would save you when you were "killed" in the Isles. Furthermore, you also got some limited control over the realm (the ability to control the weather), which implies at least pseudo-Daedric Prince status. It's not unreasonable to believe that the stuff you get as a reward for the Shivering Isles was only so comparatively weak for gameplay purposes, and that over time the PC did, in fact, become the new Sheogorath.

Most likely, though, we'll be getting the Sheogorath quest from Haskill.

I reckon we'll either see Nu-Sheogorath assuming the old appearance and voice (or even a new canon identity entirely), or merely have Haskill do all the talking.

Why are people so hell bent on assuming that once a mortal, always a mortal, is the only system in TES.

I can't exactly remeber the names (I'll have to dig them up on UESP) but I know that the patron Deadric Prince of the Orcs was born a mortal. A Chimer I believe, or some other sort of Mer. In any case, the guy was swallowed up by a different Prince, then spit out a Deadra, and his people were cursed into the forms of the Orcs. It's perfectly possible that the PC from Oblivion could become a Deadric Prince, as the lore shows that a mortal can make the transition.

As for the form Sheogorath would take, I agree that he would appear the same as always.

I mean, if Jyggalag, a full blown, never-been-a-mortal Deadric Prince was transformed into the shape of a scottish accented, bearded old man with goat eyes, then what chance does a ex-convict mortal have to avoid that fate?

[EDIT] yeah, got my lore all confuzzled. Turns out, it was an Aedea that was eaten, not a Mer. My bad.....well, there goes my argument.

Daedric princes have always given us quest in TES games. Sheogorath will have a quest. There is no way they would take it out.

The hero from the last game will probably be him. they'll say he was made into a daedra. kinda cool since talos become one of the nine divine. and then the champ of cyrodil becomes a daedra

Malacath (my avatar) was once an Aedra, Trinimac to be exact, Boethiah, did something to him be it eating him or just putting a spell on him, anywho he was corrupted. When he was corrupted so were his followers, the Orsimer into Orcs. Boethiah assumed his shape and he was transformed into Malacath.

Well, apparently your guy became the new Sheo and for the past two centuries slowly turned into a younger version of Sheo with an Irish accent. And, if I'm not mistaken, he'll actually help you.

I don't mind. I'll be thinking, "I remember you! You're Gregreo! I played you back in Oblivion!"

What? turned into a younger version? What are you talking about?

I don't remember meeting Sheogorath in MW. Maybe I missed that quest.

Yeah, I double checked for the names right after I posted, and realized my mistake, so I added an edit in at the bottom. Another poster raised the excellent example of Tiber Septim though. Different side of the Aedra/Deadra coin, but in the same themes as what I was getting at.

Agreed, Daedra/Aedra aren't stuck in particular forms. Tiber Septim becomes talos, Trinimac becomes malacath, and Lorkhan's place in either pantheon seems a bit hazy. Why couldn't the CoC grow to one of these positions as well?

Hey if my char was Sheogorath he would most certainly appoint someone else to respond to summons - I mean presidents have doubles, why not Sheo? A daedric prince who has a realm to run, and a crazy one at that has no time to chat with every mortal. So while we may assume that our charter became Sheogorath, I wouldn't expect any actual in game acknowledgment of that by mortals - the business of a daedric realm is a busness of the realm, not worshipers - worshipers get the statue and a voice that is assumed to be Sheogorath, but in reality is a "press secretary" :D

It's a good way to write an "end" to the Champion of Cyrodiil's story really. Not by being burieid in the Imperial City, but by ascending to "god"hood and living eternally - in a realm of Oblivion there will be no access to - similar to the fate of the Nerevarine in Akavir. If they do include the CoC, she'll likely have changed appearance to a more ambiguous one genderwise; like that of a sheep, or some other creature "They'll have descended into madness by now anyway" to keep people happy.

Edit: I have just remembered, when you become Sheogorath, doesn't everyone see you and respond to you as if you are in fact the old bearded Sheogorath? If so, then nothing has to change at all :celebration:

I don't think that'd be actually possible? LOL? There are just too many combinations of what the character could've looked like. I do think Sheogorath will now be refereed to in his aeroplane jelly name.

Cheese for everyone? Nah, in my book Sheogorath doesn't necessarily have to appear in Skyrim. :)

Said it elsewhere but I'll say it here too, love to see Sheogorath in Skyrim but don't want to hear him, thought that bit of voice acting was the worse thing in all Oblivion/SI. It would make sense that the CoC nearing the end of their natural life on Mundus would head for the Isles, whereasthe newly liberates Jyggalag would be trying to expand his influence throughout the planes.

I wouldn't be surprized if in Skyrim your conversation with Sheogorath would start "I remember I was like you once, traveling across Tamriel and facing evil left and right... or was I? Nope, yes I was. Jyggallag would never do that. Regardless...".

that would be odd considering that all of my characters are default settings of nords, imperials, orcs, or redguards with only minor tweaks that i get done within 2 minutes. sheogorath would look like my current character assuming that we put skyrims facial graphics on him instead of oblivions.

does anyone know if you actually become a full daedra after shivering isles or do you just get use of the realm and still have a normal human lifespan?

"Oh waid, it wasn't left and right. It was up, down, and through. I went through a lot of things, and the things on the othe side didn't like me using their door. They sure opened a pretty big door later on though. To bad I had to close it, it was warm in there compared to how cold it was outside Is it cold where you are? I don't like the cold. Do you like the cold? I dont know why you would, you must be crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once. That one kid was crazy too. Transformed into a dragon to fight a really BIG red guy. Have you ever seen a dragon? You know, really big, breaths fire, scales. Well, if you ever see one, ask if they've seen that kid. I miss him, he was crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once."

Personally I'd find it funny and would like it. A cool little reference Oblivion people would get to chuckle at.
