Is Sheogorath You?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:08 pm

I'm just curious. Typically in an Elder Scrolls or Fallout game, the newest one just assumes that every single little thing was done in the last game. Every thing. So, does this mean that Sheogorath is you from Oblivion? When your character did the Shivering Isles, they became the mad god themselves. Doesn't this mean they took the same curse the the old Sheogorath had, upon themselves? And thus eventually became a new Sheogorath, looking just like the old one? Or was the curse removed when you slayed Jyggalag? Just rather curious.

Spoiler
when you do sheogoraths quest he consistantly hints that he actually is the CoC, mentioning things like being there when martin turned into the avatar of akatosh and other such things

Thank you. :] So, does this mean that our character from Oblivion is now completely mad? Or is he still sane and can leave the isles to go out whenever he wants?

The game assumes that someone did those things. That someone is not necessarily you.

He can obviously leave the isles. He doesn't seem very sane to me though.

Indeed, it could've been him, or even her. It might've been done by clouds.

The main reason I assume it's your char from Oblivion is because
Spoiler
he states he was there for the entirety of the Oblivion Crisis and was there when Martin killed himself, along with listing a few random things. Butterflies, a Fox, a severed head, and cheese. Butterflies likely reference the beginning of the Shivering Isles. The Fox likely references the Gray Fox. The severed head likely references the severed head of that one traitors mother from the DB quest line. Cheese likely references his famous line "Cheese for everyone!"

So i guess after we stopped playing Oblivion, our hero retired to the Shivering Isles to be his godly self and steadily became exactly like the Sheogorath he had replaced during the events of shivering isles?

I'm the CoC who took the Mantle of Madgod, but passed it to Haskill. He took my experiences in the process and so believes he saved Tamriel twice (I'm Nerevarine too). Just another form of the madness I guess. I'm still relatively sane, if fighting dragons singlehandedly is considered sane.

There was a book in Skyrim that depicted Sheogorath as someone unpredictable that may help or hinder whoever he encounters.
... yep, sounds like our CoC alright.

I think everything fits perfectly. He is whoever the champion of cyrodiil was. Technically, you are not the same character from Oblivion, so the champion really could be anybody, just not you at the present time. Maybe a past life, or a past clown...or was it cloud?

Spoiler
In Skyrim, Sheogorath is "on vacation" Much like you did when you left the isles to go mess around in Cyrodiil.
