Sheogoraths realm & the barrier

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:07 pm

Isn't there supposed to be a barrier that shields Tamriel's plane from Daedric Princes realms after Oblivions MQ? Then how can Sheogorath create a gate to Cyrodiil? I also wonder how he raised the island... is he just supposed to be able to change stuff even in Tamriel's plane with his mind?

The island was already there.

As for the gate, I believe as long as nothing was coming out, and the things going in were only doing so by their own free will, the rules were still being followed.

The island had no basing to the landmass. It was just a floating piece of rock.

Sounds familiar , But how about the crazy khajiit running around saying ''you can't see me blahblah blah'' ? Or was he..eek /she just mentally ill?

The theory is that anyone that goes into the Shivering Isles ends up somewhat to completely deranged.

She went in on her own free will, then went crazy inside, then left. Same as that Dunmer the guard kills in the beginning and (eventually) the guard himself (most likely).

There's no such thing as a 'barrier.' It's just that Nirn is a distinct world, like an air bubble in a fish tank, and a chain of events culminating in the Emperor's death resulted in the air bubble losing the properties that enable it to remain discreet from the surrounding void. Making gates became easy, bits of daedric plants showed up in Colovia, and you saw it as invasion.

But come on, it's a little portal and some rocks. A mortal mage could almost manage that.

Hear the words of those wiser then We.

Champion of Cyrodiil: Why did that door appear in Cyrodiil?

Haskill: Because my Lord wills it to be so. It poses no danger to Mundus; no compact has been violated. It is a doorway, an invitation. Perhaps you will accept it for what it is.

there is your answer.

Just search in TES using the find text feature for the word barrier... plenty of references.

Doesn't explain how...

That doesn't mean that it is literal truth. More of a simplified figure of speech.

What is the barrier between you and the chair you are sitting on?

It's not an invasion. It's an invitation. Daedra cannot cross the barrier.
