[REQ] A Shezrie's Towns Request Thread

Post » Mon Nov 22, 2010 7:40 pm

Shezrie's Towns is a large mod with five towns in it. Three you already know of because they have been released in the past, Lakewood Village, Ravenview Village, Woodland Village (these towns will contain updates). The other two towns are Pell's Gate and Haven Bay.

Pell's Gate is a large town mod that has been in the works off and on for over two years now, ever since my last town release, Woodland Village. It is an expansion of the vanilla Pell's Gate village.

It is a dirty, dangerous town but has some parts that hint at it's glory days when it was a playground for the rich. In particular the massive Pell's Gate Gallery and the Royal Hotel. The town is at this stage of development:

Exteriors - Complete
Interiors (approx 70 of them) - Complete
NPCs - Complete
Pathgrids - Complete
New Dialogue - 90% complete
Quests - 2 of 3 is completed

So you can see this one is just about ready to go, just got to finish the two quests I am working on. I actually took out three additional quests that will be added in for the second release.

The completed quest is a hidden part of the gallery

To get through this quest you will need wits and a good sword and a love for traps, mazes etc. It is a sort of dungeon but with completely custom areas and a completely new creature.

The current quest I am working on it the Gallery Quest, 'The Quest for the Missing Septim Crown'. *Now completed*

The Septim Crown has been stolen from the Royal Jewels Display in the Gallery and you want to find it and get the reward.....sure you do. :whistling: Since it is clear this is an inside job you will have to make a deal with the Curator after getting to know her of course. She will employ you as her new secretary and you get your own office, but you will be a plant. Under the guise of being a secretary you will need to find clues and talk to all the http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/Shezrie/GalleryStaff.jpg in the Gallery. However you will also need to do some secretarial duties in order to keep up the charade. Get to know the staff and their relationships with each other and in the end hopefully you have found the thief and the crown. This quest has absolutely no fighting involved, but has some surprising twists and surprises.

The third quest is of course The Theft of the Gallery *Currently in the works*

Big gallery, loads of goods....what's not to rob? Pell's Gate is actually built with thieves in mind with stealable paintings, openable chests, enterable windows, safes...and the Gallery is the biggest lure...but also the most difficult. Unless...you meet the right person who can help you out, but be careful who you meet in dark taverns.

Pell's Gate is generally dangerous, you can get murdered, mugged and slandered in totally unexpected ways.

Anyway I am here with this because I really want to get this completed and hopefully this has sparked some interest and will give the help I need. As I progress in this mod I find certain things I that I really need, particularily when it comes to the quests. So I figured I would put one request thread here that I update and perhaps some kind folks could please either direct me to the resources if they exist or even make them.

New key and icon

Are you looking for a whole new model, or just a retexture? If a new model, what do you have in mind? If you're wanting a new model I probably can't help you though...

I think a silver retex of the current key would work really well as it would stand out. :)

Something like http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll61/Revanchism/Working/Meeks_Key.jpg? Or would you prefer it a little lighter/brighter? I could always stick a particle effect on it to make it genuinely sparkly! Forgive me, I literally just woke up: I haven't taken a shower or had breakfast yet.

Vac

Edit: OK, I've just made two silver keys and two gold keys. You can use them yourself and/or make them available on ORE for other people. Let me make the icons and I'll PM you a link to the files.

Edit2: Huh, I've got really rusty at this. Four icons shouldn't have taken that long. Anyway, 4Shared seems to be down, so although I'm all done, I can't upload the keys for you just now. I'll try again later.

4Shared's back up, I literally just sent you the PM with the link. 2 Gold keys, 2 silver keys with natty icons to match. If you have any questions feel free to ask by PM or here, I'll try and keep an eye on this thread as I can do simple retextures easily enough, and complicated particle effects too.

Got them, thank you so much!

Updated the first post with a request for...

*A few short hairs.

The reason is because you will need to examine a body of a murder victim in Pell's Gate and of course you will need to find some clues as to the identity of the killer. A few hairs seems logical. :grad:

*Also, is anyone skilled in Animation? I have a custom secret item that is not animating properly and need someone to take a look and fix.

I assume for hairs you could take that one alchemy ingredient that looks like three little sticks/blades of grass. Trying to remember which, but you could probably change it to look thinner/shorter. Just my 2cents, and also, I love more towns. So keep it up!

I took a look in the CS and you were right. 'Bloodgrass' is perfect! Thank you! That was exactly what I had in mind for the hairs.

I think a permanent resizing of the mesh and a retex of it to a more dirty yellow and it would be perfect as a few hairs. :foodndrink: Could even use the same icon image.

I think the vanilla icon is just fine, so no need to make another. Thank you! :)

I'm glad someone else can help you: last time I attempted to resize a mesh I had some problems, and I'm too busy with other mods to learn what I'd need to learn just now.

The pictures look good though!

Got the download and they look great! The problem with the resizing is that they revert back to the original mesh size when they are dropped from the player inventory.

ah, if no1 else resizes them for ya by 2morrow night i'll have it done for u :)

EDIT: actually maybe i can just tell u how to...

1. open blondehair.nif in NifSkope
2. select/highlight the 6th header on the lefthand side. it should be called "Object01:0"
3. look at the bottom of your screen in "block details."
4.find "scale."
5. edit the value to whatever you want (i.e. 0.5000 for half the size)
6. right-click "scale" and select "transform > scale vertices"
7. press OK to the menu that will pop up.
8. save and exit

i haven't resized anything in a while so my memory is hazy, but i think that should do it. and again, if it's not done by 2morrow night i do it for ya :)

Funny, I am sure that's the way I tried to do this before (on a different mesh), but the collision didn't scale for me and I never got around to learning why not.

Yes I noticed that and didn't know how to resize the collision. However I tested the hairs ingame and it all seems fine. The 'activation' area is of course far wider then the actual mesh, but that only means http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/Shezrie/Hair.jpg. :whistling: Thanks so much for the retex, BadCompany. :)

Still really need someone to look at the animation on an object.

Also really need a little help on a script, please....I need the hairs to only be added once. Otherwise you can get the hairs multiple times, every time you activate the area.

Scriptname PGHairScript

begin onactivate
MessageBox "No spoilers."
player.additem PGBlondHairs 1
end

You just need add a Do Once check to the script :)

Scriptname PGHairScriptShort DoOnceBegin OnActivate If DoOnce == 0 MessageBox "No spoilers." player.additem PGBlondHairs 1 Set DoOnce to 1 EndifEnd

I need simple script please, if anyone has the know how. When the player picks up a certain scroll I want a particular item to be 'enabled' from it's 'initially disabled' state. For some reason I can't find a similiar script.
