[RELZ] Shezrie's Villages

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:12 am

This mod is a combination of all three of my completed towns.

Lakewood Village

A quaint small town overlooking a lake, with 10 buildings. The town is set on two levels up the hillside. It has two buyable player homes, a tavern and a shop. This town now has more clutter and the the landscape has been softened. There are also new custom signs created by Phaedra. The windows light up on different schedules during the night.

There are no UL conflicts with this town.

Ravenview Village

A larger town that sits on a mountain top with incredible views all around. This town has 14 buildings and two player homes. One buyable and one gained through a quest. There is a main shop and a tavern/inn. The windows in this village light up at random times in the evening. This town now has custom signs created by Phaedra.

This town conflicts with UL CLoudtop Mountain mod.

Woodland Village

This is a full town. There are 26 buildings in it and one buyable house. There is a clothes shop, an armor store, an inn, a bakery, a haunted house and a town hall. There are three 'quests' of sorts.

I highly recommend http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11163 with Woodland Village as they complement each other perfectly.

Basically I forgot to do a release thread a while ago when I combined the towns but I am doing one now with another purpose in mind.
I need to get the file as clean as possible for a reason that will become clear later :shifty: .There are a few issues that I need help on. Btw, none of these issues are game breaking or will mess up your game, I just need the file as clean as possible:

*Lakewood Village was my first village and first attempt at the rent a room script. Dervera Romalan in The Newlands lodge now has no voice file but still rents rooms with text. I have tried to clean this up but was not successful. If someone with the know how could take the file and clean this up or tell me how I would be grateful.

*I have had one report that the critters in a Woodland Village haunted house quest area do not move. I need to know what causes this, how this can be fixed.

*I need to organize the meshes and textures files so uninstallation is easier. I would assume the best way to do this is to create a bsa.

*I was a very naughty girl and unintentionally stole the voice file from the publican in Bruma for the tavern in Ravenview.

*I need to know if there are any other errors so that I can fix. So if people could do a thorough run through that would be great.

You can create a BSA using OBMM. You can also use BSA Commander but some files don't BSA very well with that program, so OBMM is better. For cleaning the ESP etc. I can look at that for you. If you have a version more recent than the 10th of February, PM me a link to download it and I'll take a look once I've finished with Princess Stomper's ESP.

A pity that, but Ravenview & Cloud Top are set on the same mountain. However, since I opted for Ravenview, I'd like to say thank you to meek for consolidating these mods, I use all three & having them consolidated will give me room for others.

Oh, cool. I had downloaded these upon spotting them before and was poking around at that rent script in Lakewood but got confused by something in it and set it aside to work on other stuff instead.

Are the separate versions of these still available? I'd really like to keep Cloud Top and it seems that patching it is either impossible or very impractical.

Huge thank you to 'display name is already in use' for cleaning. That is what is so cool about these forums, there is always someone with more know how that can assist. :)

Thank you everyone else for your kind words.

With the Ravenview/Cloudtop conflict, there is no working patch. Although Ruikuli on the ORE forums put up a possible patch for me to test out which I need to do in the next few days.

Arthmoor, I should be able to get you the separate files if I can find them on my computer back up, I will look.

I suppose they really are more town then village size. I am planning on changing the name to Shezrie's Towns when I add something else in, in the near future.

Remember to report any errors you all find so I can fix.

Just a confirmation that I also have the problem with the critters in the basemant of the haunted house. I've played through that particular quest before with just the Woodland Village mod and had no problems (Awesome dungeon by the way). Starting a new character I upgraded to Shezrie's Villages and the critters just sit there. I slashed at one until it died and had an instant CTD. I didn't test beyond the cellar as (embarrasingly) I got freaked out by the inert monsters. I remember how hard they are to take down from my last palythrough using Woodland Village.

Can I also take this opportunity to thank you for your work on (particularly) Woodland Village. I love the location, it just seems integral to the game, I would not play without Wodland Village in my game.

Is there anywhere I could DL just Lakewood and Woodland?

Also, meek, are you still working on Pell's Gate?

Thanks Nijel. Display name in use has told me what the problem with the unmoving creatures likely is and how to fix it. :)

Separate files are not available yet as I have to locate them. I lost a lot of data recently so if I cannot locate it on my external back up drive then ....

I am back to working on Pell's Gate after quitting for some months as I found a solution for my concerns that were preventing me from releasing mods and have found my enthusiasm for modding again. (I won't bore you all with the details) Pell's Gate is what will be added to Shezrie's Towns for a four town package deal when it is done, that is why I am trying to make sure this file is as clean as possible. But I am not going to be making another Pell's Gate wip, just adding the occasional update to the already open wip on my own forum

I located an error myself, the giant slaughter fish in the Ravenview quest were not attacking, still freaked me out though when I fell into the water and my torch blew out.
I will add that to the list of fixes.

For those that wanted the individual files because of the Ravenview conflict with UL. I found the files on ORE, I had forgotten that I uploaded them there for extra back up.

Please be aware that these files do not contain the updates that 'Shezrie's Villages' does and they will not be updated, or given the fixes provided by 'Display name is already in use'.

...do not contain the updates...

So - just to be clear - these are not 'merely' merged together but also reworked in some way? Would you say there's an advantage to using this instead? Are the updates mainly cleaning and DNIAIU's fix to the unmoving creature issue?

By the way, these three villages have become as much a part of Cyrodiil for me as Bravil and Bruma themselves. They are a magnificent achievement.

Thanks for those. Any chance the specifics of what Vorians fixed could be mentioned so those of us who want to fix it ourselves can? :)

Thank you. :)

The current Shezrie's Villages file has a number of fixes and additions included:

Lakewood has more clutter in the upper section.
Lakewood's landscape is smoother.
Fixed a back to front curtain in the smaller buyable house in Lakewood.
Lakewood and Ravenview now have custom signs.
Unlocked the inn door in Woodland Village.

The biggest advantage to this one is the custom signs, landscaping and new clutter.

However you may want to wait for the next file will will include all of the above and:

Fix the voice file issues in Ravenview and Lakewood and the two vanilla inns these affected.
Fix the non moving creature issues caused by mod conflicts that some are having in Woodland.
Fix the slaughter fish issue in Ravenview quest.
And any other issues people will come up with.
The files packed into a bsa for neatness and easy removal.

This fix will hopefully be out in a few days so it is worth waiting for.

Arthmoor,

I don't know how 'Display name already in use' fixed the Olav and dervola voice issues and what he specifically cleaned in the file. He also added the voice files so Rolfr in the Ravenview Inn has full rent a bed voicing.

Also for the Woodland creatures, they will be added into their own faction and AI packages revised as the chief suspect in issues with them not moving is mod conflicts. But I haven't looked in detail into it yet.
