Shinny Statues

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 6:32 am

I just installed An Old Friends Vivec Retexture V2.0 mod many because it has some pretty good statue rextextures
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg181/abrecabron/rocky.jpg
but it somehow didnt replace this statue too, it kept its shiny golden look from the earlier replacer I was using

Does anybody know what files do I need to erase to get rid of that look? Because if you look closely the textures below are those from the An Old Friends mod, but they somehow still have that golden hue
Thanks for any help

Cool, looks like its made of ebony.

But I think that if the first replacer you used was a mesh replacer, and the second was a texture replacer then the first may have had its nif material properties changed to get that golden hue.

I would find the ID of that statue by opening the console and clicking on it. Find it in the CS and check which model it uses, delete the model and textures associated with it from your data files folder then reinstall your preferred replacer, choosing yes to replace old files.

Hope this helps.

... Next time use Wrye Mash's BAIN. It will make installing and uninstalling mods very easy.

As far as I know, just delete the statue meshes from your Data Files folder (they'll probably be under the meshes\x folder) and maybe recreate distant land and it should be good as new.
