Shoot the far target. Shoot the far target. Shoot the far ta

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:20 am

I'm at Angi's Camp trying to learn some Marksman pointers from her and I'm on the part where she says to crouch down and take your time and "shoot the far target." She's said that sentence so much that it just sounds like random noises now. I keep hitting the target. I keep hitting that pressure plate on the stick. I keep shooting at it and she just keeps saying "shoot the far target." I can't seem to get past this part in her training no matter what I do: crouched or not crouched, shooting the "far target" or shooting any target, using practice arrows and even iron ones, running up to the damn thing and bashing it with my bow. And every time I shoot, she'll say "Watch it!" even though I'm using the practice arrows and I'm not even aiming at her or anything. Argh.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but I've tried every different way I can think to hit the thing. How do I progress?

the far target is slightly to the left RIIIIIGHT at the back behind a small rock.. also, there seems to be a slight clipping issue with the rock so aim slightly higher than normal..took me 3 or 4 tries to get it, if i remember correctly there are 3 targets clearly visible but the furthest is slightly obscured by said rock an the background foliage etc.. hope this helps. also before asking her for training go walk amongst the targets to see where they are etc.. also if anyone knows if she is marriage material? i want that cabin

Thank you SO much, AvD. I couldn't see that thing even when I ran up to the targets and looked around. Just a tiny black dot surrounded by all sorts of other tiny black dots (and white ...smears). I was even watching her when she was shooting before she told me to, so that I'd know where to aim, but I just thought she was missing every time >.<

I meant to go get my Amulet of Mara and go back and see if it'll let me marry her, but I sort of ended up going down to Falkreath and shooting things and making potions and talking to people and failing to pickpocket things >.<. It doesn't say she's available to marry on the UESP. :(

Can't hit that 4$&@!?$ for the life of me! I went there with my archery in the 90's, did all the rest, and got the same nonsense. I used everything I had, went through several pack of those damn practice arrows and finally left her standing at that stump.

Really - I am not going to be humiliated like that. I KNOW I hit that svcker! She must be yankin my chain.... I see I' m not the only one who feels there is a glitch here.

So marshmallow - did you hit it? I plan on returning.... To either hit the target or put an arrow through her eyes. Maybe then she'll see I AM HITTINGBTHE FAR FRIGGIN' TARGET!!!!

Just kidding. My character wouldn't do that..... I'll let her live, but I may not like it!

I was level 45 in archery when I did it.

Take your time and most of all walk to that stick and backpedal to see how it will look from far. Realize that it's a bit at the right of a bush and that your first arrows aimed all in the stick. So shoot a bit HIGHER.

And use ONLY the preactice arrows. Other arrows won't count at all.

Of course I didn't do the fourth round. I'll come back later maybe but archery is not my priority.

Edit: Even when doing this round you can stop anytime and go to the target to see and get your arrows. When you return she'll still here waiting for you to continue.

If you're running with lower settings, you may not even be able to see the target unless you turn your settings up. It will clip out of existence.

I did all of it in the 40s. It helps if you have the archery perk that lets you zoom in but even so you need to aim slightly high.

Yeah, that one target is a royal pain, especially when doing the "time trial" waiting for the bow to settle. It's not a quest per se, but rather an activity of sorts. Oh, and Angi is a wanted criminal, so I doubt you could take her into town safely, married or not, lol.

Yeah, the time trial is what has me flummoxed. My archery skill is in the 80s, now, though... so it's not even really worth it for me to try it Angi's way. She can keep her little self shacked up in the mountains and us real archers can go about our business in the world. :)

Damn, I just had this and gave up after I thought it was bugged. I hit the target every time I am 100% certain of it but Agni didn't react to it. When I ran out of arrows she refused to give me more.

Sometime glitches are so gooood..

I'm just training archery (to reach Level 76) and it happens just I found a lovely glitch. So

For your training in archery.

Take a lot of iron arrows and a long bow (damage 8) with you. Go to Steepfall Burrow far N/W of Solitude, S/W pf Orphan's Tear boat, right north of Lost Echo cave.

Enter in the top entrance among rocks and quickly cross the bridge. Right before entering the tunnel, against the end of the wall at your right, turn to face the bridge pressing your back against the wall. The 2 Frost Trolls will come but not attack you, staying in front. So you can train your archery with one while the other heals himself. You can stay for as long as you want. I have just gained 4 levels for now. They are still waiting for me to continue. Avoid to cast healing on them. Let them regenerate normaly. You can also wait...Good training.

You get 6 points in archery and it's quite easy once you realize how arrows fly in Skyrim.

It's best to keep with quest for when you hit the '90s in said skill. Otherwise it will take a long time to go from 90 to 100 (unless you shoot everything that moves).

I didn't even get that far. She wanted me to be able to hit three targets within a time limit - that I couldn't draw and fire (much less aim) in.

She's definitely marriage material, but she's not a legitimate "candidate". Plus, I think she lives with another chick so we're probably too late.

It's in the mountains about 135 degrees (4:30 if you don't know azimuths) from Falkreath.

I play on an xbox.... still can't hit that svcker... I think it is probably the only challenge I'll never be able to complete. Ancient dragons are cake compared to this.... That's just wrong! And my archery is in 96 or 97! That should help for crap sake.

I wonder if doing this on a pc is easier. I swear I must have tried a hundred times.... This is just wrong! And I got the perk to zoom and slow time as well...

Funny thing is i went back and she's still at that stump - nice of her to what. I should tell her not to hold her breath - I'd rather face a swarm of dragons than go though that torture of watch it ad Can I have more practice arrows!

i play on xbox and her challenges were really easy for me. You just have to aim above the far target or your arrow will fall short.

How much time is given for the "timed" part? That will probably give me trouble.

I think 10 seconds, although, with the really hard to hit target, I was already aimed at it when she said go, so it's really more like three easy targets if you take that into account
