I finally found an elven warhammer with a banish enchantment and dropped over 7000 gold on it. I disenchanted it and started making 800 gold sale price iron daggers only to find that shopkeepers hardly carry more than 750. Only a few carry over 1000. That it just stupid. My Nord is no thief so I'm not joining the guild, and I refuse to spam speech training and waste perks in speech just to invest. That doesn't even make sense, we should be able to invest right away or at least when we become friends with the shopkeeper through a quest for them. When I can't sell a single 800 gold iron dagger to 80% of the shopkeepers, something isn't right. I would like to see a buff up to 2500 gold for major city shops, less for village shops.

Shopkeeps are already broken. They restock everyday with new gold, it's ridiculous.

That being said, that doesn't mean I don't take advantage of them from time to time.

I saw a post somewhere here that said there is a guy that, if you added the 1500 from the two speech perks, he would have 10,000.

But I have yet to find any NPC that has more than 1250 gold before the perks.

That's why people would want to level speech. What you're suggesting is that they get rid of everything that speechcraft useful, which would be completely stupid on their part to do.

It's still dumb. I can wait a week and my shopkeepers gold level never changes. Take Belethor, for example. He's always got 750, period. My choice is to either take a loss on selling something I picked up or buying something off them first to raise their on-hand gold before selling. It's really a terrible system.

Unlock the seven fences from the thieves guild quests. They come with 4000 gold as standard and buy everything.
If you do a complete circuit of them, the first one will have respawned his monies when you get back to him.

There is a perk for this. i don't find any problem with it.. u can wait a few days to restock or pimp your house

The speech perk line allows you to invest in ships which increases both their stock and the amount of gold they have per session, but I think you need 70 in speech to get it.

Stupid Belethor and his 750 gold. I'm trying to sell my bloody jewelry and he has nothing by two sapphire gold rings. And then on the way out of I trip over that damned tiny table of his and send candlesticks EVERYWHAR.

When you get 100 speech using the perk tree, all shopskeepers gain 1000 gold to their budget, and main ones have the option of a 500 investment to further boost it. You should research before moaning, i have shopkeepers with 2,750 gold, which replenishes everyday.

You should read the OP before moaning about my moaning. I'm putting perks into things that will keep me alive. Even a buff to 2000 would help a great deal.
