My shotgun fell through my bed in room - how do I get it bac

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:48 am

Hello Everyone!

In a nutshell I placed my shotgun onto my bed in my room. It fell through it as soon as I moved it (geometry bug). I can't get it back... I tried every possible angles, I tried coming in and out of the room, etc.

Is there a way to get it back? I am quite attached to it.

Reload an older save.

If on console like me then it is gone forever.
If on PC try no clip (TCL I think on the console command) or find the item code and get it using console command.

Anyone ever lost a quest item due to this type of bug.

Pretty sure i've had a corpse go through the floor with a quest item inside at some point in FO3.

ye i had this bug when i tried to decorate my BoS hideout.
all the items (or most) i dropped where gone...then i found out when i jumped on a workbench (ie.e not standing on the ground) and drop things then it works just fine.
now my BoS hideout houses some of the world finest and expensive weapons

damn i should make a screeny of that.

Right, thank you everyone for your help!
The solution was to open the console, type tcl, then float down through the bed and get it from under there.

The same thing didn't work for a cigarette that I had dropped and fell through the environment - that one however reappeared when the room 'reset' itself as it usually does every couple of days.

Cheers!

I came across a lot plant related bugs for like the Broc Flowers. I would bump into one and it would fall through the floor and reappear but only to re fall through the floor. Almost like "Out of This World" if you have your back against the wall and turn around and jump, you jump through the wall and reappear at the other side of the screen and you could repeat that over and over again....almost like that. lol

Sounds like it could happen in real life. In fact, that was immediately what I thought.

I hope I don't get into a habit of losing my guns. I'm quite fond of my .380.

I fell through a floor once....into an area of grey with floating furniture.

Amen, misplacing firearms is a really bad idea.

I accidentally dropped the laser rifle scope from my inventory in the Repconn tunnel and lost it through the floor. I was kind of mad but figured I don't really use energy weapons anyway so meh....

I'm on PC so I could have gotten it back if I had cared enough...but I didn't...so I didn't bother.
