Should Arthur Maxson Survive Prydwen's Fall?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 1:16 am

If the BoS getting pwn'd becomes canon I hope Maxson survives and becomes more humble, temperate, and wise. We've see him in all his glory. How the man comes back from a crushing defeat in no small part due to his own hubris would make him one of the most compelling characters in the series (not that he already isn't).

Thoughts? Discuss.

But I shot him in the face and killed him and then stole all his clothes and power armor

Well, I killed Zimmer in FO3 and he still survived :(

On the topic, depends on which ending gets canonized I guess. You can kill him personally in the Institute route (as he joins the battle), but I don't think you can fight him in Minutemen (unless you kill him beforehand) and Railroad routes. Well, maybe our character might only think he died in Institute route...

Though I do wish he survives and gets humbled. He is still just 20 years old so there is so much potential in this guy.

He would probably be pissed.

The Prydwen would probably not fall in the first place. One of these backstabbing Minutemen would probably spoil their plan or they would see the howitzers and that Preston tells everyone how much he hates the BoS and then they would seize the howitzers or just move the Prydwen to the sea.

You found Zimmer? I only heard them talk about him through Dialogue, and him not returning yet..so I wasn't sure if he did make it back from the Capital wasteland or not? Most of the 'good' Lone Wanderers would have killed Zimmer. Not sure if thats canon or not though.

If he has not returned back after 10 years and had not reported them, he would be proclaimed MIA. Also, it sounds like he is on some more important business than hunting down a runaway Courser.

Besides, Beth would probably just proclaim him MIA if they did not want to spare him. So most of us think he will appear in a DLC.

I want a future DLC to star Sarah Lyons as your temporary companion.

She can return to the Capital Wasteland to take over from Elder Maxson.

No reformation, only death.

While somewhat far-fetched... Remember how old Zimmer was? He could easily have a 30+ year old child.

Or Zimmer in Fallout 3 is Synth Zimmer bodydouble.

I dunno. If I blow someone's head clean off...and they come back and they are not a synth...I'd be pretty miffed for them not to recognize my homicide. Especially someone who I can make my adversary.

Do you know how many times I've killed Synth-Art?

A lot.

I'm the Director of the Institute and SOMEONE has a serious mad on to replace this guy.

He's a Synth though. Stands to reason. Someone at the Institute has a thing for Art, makes more Art. Making Art.

Maxson comes back, but not a Synth after dumping enough ordinance into him to make a Super Mutant regain gender identifiers is not okay.

Yeah, unless the BoS ending or Minutemen ending is canonized, I don't see how Elder Maxson could survive.

Alec Trevalyne had less metal and explosive material fall on him in Goldeneye.

Yes he should, so I can carve him up with my ripper like a Thanksgiving Day turkey :)
