Should Bethesda advocate a multi play through?

Post » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:49 pm

There was a freaking [censored] TON to do x) I hardly see how in one playthrough you did everything and I wouldn't believe you if you said it. I found that the idea of a sandbox rpg is that you can always make a new character and have fun I played through 8 or 9 times man. And the mass effect thing doesn't fit here imo.

Sure they should!!!!!!!!!!!! But only if it wouldn't have negative effect on game.
If they implicate multiplayer option it would awesome.

Perhaps i made the ideal a little to simple for people to actually understand it. Im not suggesting you start out with t-51b power armor or anything to the extreme as your minds always seem to take things to a worst case senairo. I was sugesting that bethseda/obsidian put in place things that point out the great replay value that fallout has and the achievements you get have rewards to them a perk you couldn't get until you got it or maybe some extra rounds or money to start you off. Not like 1000 caps or anything just a small amount. something that would make your second playthrough attractive thing to do and a very marketable idea. I realize that it is dificult to understand a business suggestion for some but if you don't get it you shouldn't fly off the bat and make a guess of what i mean because odds are you won't have it right .

I think they already have : hardcoe mode. I'll probably play through on normal mode then jump into hardcoe.

"Some people like to do it hardcoe"

I'm going straight to hardcoe. It's what I've always wanted, seriously. That mode brings realism to a whole new level in gaming!

bealive it I have done ever single quest side quest and gotten every rare item in the game in one playthrough. It was before i had live so i had to do that to get my moneys worth of the experence. I am what you would call a complesinist when it comes to games. (sorry about the spelling on my phone right now) oh and guys the mass effect thing is just where i got the idea from don't hang on that like im saying we should have ftl in fallout or something lol it was just to kinda let you know where i got themarketing idea

Replay value seemed to be pretty good in Fallout 3. You learn a lot when you play through the game and you do way better the second time through. I only went through Fallout 3 about three and a half times before I stopped playing though. I never really tried playing as an unarmed or melee character because those facets of the game seemed like they were neglected. Maybe I'll try it in New Vegas though. It looks more accessible on all fronts. Replay value seems really good in New Vegas.

Guys lets stay on topic. We have a somewhat legitimate discussion going on.

OT:I don't really think Fallout fits into the repeat play through idea even if its just in your stats. Its a very deep and open world RPG that has plenty of other things to do.

I wouldn't exactly complain if completing the game unlocked access to new difficulty levels. I know there willl be plenty of detractors, but I could live with HC mode unlocking after the first playthru.

Okay, I am re-opening this thread. For those of you who should know better, do not lecture people in a thread - use the report button, that is what it is there for. For those of you who make an assumption about the topic from reading only the thread title, I suggest you read a few posts before demanding that moderators locka topic or declaring that it has been "done to death". A bunch of posts were deleted.
Behave yourselves. :stare:

A lot of games aren't fun the second time around just because the story feels complete and you wouldn't want to do it any other way. Heavy Rain for example just feels done when you finish. Fallout leaves you wondering what would have happened if you took a different approach. They're emphasizing that even more in New Vegas. I may even do an evil playthrough just to see what it's like.

Okay I am not sure how you guys got off talking about the hardcoe mode it is great and I even had suggestions about realisim and there being an on an off switch but it has nothing to do with this thread at all. I missed the fights and stuff I guess it went pretty bad in here i ask that everyone follows the rules and use your common sense try not to use so much emotion with your post it helps.

This thread was a suggestion about marketing the game's replay value and how they can do that. It is not about mulitplayer, hardcoe mode, or and other ill contrived thought that was a result of pure lacidazical response to a serius suggestion.

Now I have suggested that they take some rather large measure to point this out such as adding a bonus for completing the game some sort of unlockables, giving us something for achievements be it a trophy money or what have you, I even suggested making it to where if you are a good karma then you can only do good karma quest unless you lose some karma. That last bit may be a tad bit drug out but I haven't seen one good suggestion in here that was on topic besides mine not trying to sound vain or anything.

Now I think that makes it very clear if you still don't get it then I am very sorry for you.

Sounds like it can be a cheat code to be unclocked after finishing hardcoe in the options menu.
Yea I would like a reward to continue the next careeer in Falllout.
Ex:
hardcoe- God Mode (Only Infinite Life)
Very Hard- Object Room(Kind of like the console command in FO3)
Hard- Hold up to 10,000 weight
Medium - Infinite Ammo
Easy- 50,000.00 Caps (use once per career)
Very Easy- 100 Caps (Use as many times as you want)
Cheat Menu- Finish main quest/all side quest on any difficulty

well if you wanted to go over the line and toss people off the cliff you did it lol. That is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy too much. 50 million caps? really ? what would you spend all that on you going to buy the whole city? lol Just too much man.

when I say unlockable it would be like guns, armor, companions, quest, or even houses. Think small but valuable. If you gave players god mode they would get tired really quickly and wouldn't want to play again. If you let people carry 10k lbs carry limit they would cary soo much the game would crash constantly just by scrolling down the inventory.

Well since they have already added weapon mods to the game, how about something like a shoulder patch/decal for armors or something like that for clearing the game. It wouldn't really effect the game that much and its still a nice little bonus on any following play-through.

hardcoe better be balanced. if u ever played point lookout on VERY HARD it would be impossible on hardcoer mode when you have NO CHOICE but to spam stimpacks and you need instant healing.

Also. lol @ how my thread got locked. like 3 days later.

This has quickly gone off topic despite earlier moderator intervention. Obviously you all have nothing more to say on the OP subject so I will close this.
