I would love for brink to have a sequel, but how would they continue the story?

I would like to see the first one before i start talking about a sequel. And depending on which campaign you beat depends on what you see at the end. According to the achievement list, Resistance leave the Ark if they win. What can you do from there?

how would we know how they could continue the story when we havent seen how it ends??? :shrug:

If they made a sequel, it would carry out one of three ways.

1. It will follow a canon ending, where the developers choose what side won. Plenty of games have done this.

2. You can choose which side won, so again another two different playthroughs.

3. Both sides succeed a little, so the resistance escapes while the security is left to restore the city.


Those are the only few probable ways to continue the series I could think of. Who knows, they could do something completely different. :shrug:

My guess if their is a sequel I have a feeling it wont be resistance versus security. It will probably be the Ark versus whatever group of people survived on whatever is at a high enough elevation to survive a global flood. Chances are the Ark will dock more or less at some body of land and go looking for resources. People will be their of course and those people will probably be in pretty rough shape and in order to survive try to negotiate some trade with the people of the ark for whatever resources they need. Of course negotiations will break down probably because of some betrayal on one side to the other and everyone will go "Well might as well just murder our way to what we want." and off we go. New band of people with probably resistance esq gear since they'll like just be normal people not military. vs the security.

Let's see first when the game is out (since we don't know what happens) before thinking ahead.

I hope there's no canon ending---at least, regarding which side "won". The purpose of the story was to make each side seem like the "good guys" in their own eyes.

I think it's either 2 playthroughs or the Ark factions vs. "outsiders" (which would be interesting...).

Otherwise, we still don't know much about how the story is going to play out until the game comes out.

I'll adopt a "wait and see" approach.

I'm (now) hoping for a Mortal Engines approach, where floating cities roam the flooded Earth, consuming each other for resources. I love steampunk. :happy:

hypothetically if there was going to be sequel 2-3 years from now. i think it would be cool if we discovered there were several arcs all across the globe. some of them under water, in the air, in the arctic, etc.

these other arc's decide to invade brink's arc to steal their resources and the security and resistance form an alliance to fight the invasion. there's the same basic struggle with new enemies, new weapons, environments and missions types.

Secret Arks built everywhere, some as relaxation, some as secluded places for research, some as jail islands.

I think it should be about the Resistance taking over and distributing the resources, even if people play the Security campaign, and the Security side trying to take back the Ark and the Resistance trying to stop them... wait a second, that's Brink with the roles reversed. Well yeah, still.

Here's how I think it should play out: We wait for the the first game to release, we play it, and then we can talk sequels...

But the resistance would have left the ark, and having other arks would be highly unlikly, the ark was one of a kind, an technolgical wonder, self sustaining floatibg man made island, i doubt there are others around, unless other world nations built their own, but they would likley be diffrent, and if there are others built in america, im sure they would be able to contact eachother, but no other arks were mentioned , but it may be mentioned in the game later on.

What i was thinking is there won't be a brink 2, probably a non direct sequel like bioshock: infinite. It does not follow the bioshock story but it mantains many gameplay elements, such as plasmids, which are now called vigors (or something of the sort) the same cab be done with brink, keep the SMART system, the classes, etc, and put it in a diffrent story with a diffrent setting and add change a few things around, then BAM! Brink sequel.
