screw those living in Japan? Release to the rest of Asia, but decide to make us a month later. Even though I bought my code from a site in the UK, I am still going to be locked out for an extra month?

granted, i haven't been keeping up with the new on FO4 (I want to be surprised ), but can someone link me to what the OP is talking about?
Nah, we regularly get screwed here concerning movies also. It has to do with the xbox and playstation networks being a separate entity than the rest of the world is my guess. But as a PC user, who just wants the English version,
it is a kick in the nuts just to screw over customers in Japan, I would be better with it if there was some reason why Asia needed a delay, but there isn't.

It's pointless to cancel your pre-order when the game is delayed by...one month.
Use a vpn if you can't wait.
A single month delay is pretty small in the grand scheme of things, and rather than feel slighted.... perhaps a bit of patience would be the best thing. Or if you are truly that angered, cancel your preorder and wait even longer for the game than you would otherwise.
Isn't that the norm in Asian countries? I always see non-Asian developed games come out something like a month later. Like How the US gets a game on Tuesday and the UK gets it on a Friday.
They did the same thing with Skyrim too back in 2011. I had to avoid most of the internet for a month to avoid spoilers.
Anybody know if this applies to just the digital copy or the physical copy too? I had planned on getting the physical copy shipped to Japan but will Steam consider that a violation of some sort?
Well it's a good question. If you just want to play the English version of the game why would you still have a month delay?
Would seem preferential that people just be able to buy, and play, that English version. The alternative to waiting is piracy, that couldn't be what you want as a dev/publisher.
and some games in Japan have to be smuggled out or are Japan only.
Granted in some cases its easy to see why.... Kancolle comes to mind. . . . although a lot of people have jail broken that one to play outside Japan.
Yeah Bethesda just hates Japan. Let's just go with that. I mean that makes sense right?
Look at the bright side, there will probably be at least one patch out within the first month to fix the most immediate bugs =)
I love Japan, but if they want their own language to be spoken and be used in game text, it is going to take some time for the voice actors and translators to do their job.
Not to be insensitive to Japan players, but it's not like other areas of the world have not dealt with release delays for DECADES from Japaneses game developers and publishers. I am not advocating it as being ok, just saying that you are not the first group to be denied access to a game for some time (and in many cases for much longer than a month) after it is released elsewhere.
Your implication that it is in some way an intentional prejudiced against your country of origin is borderline insulting, and brings your understanding of how localization of a game works into question.
If it's anything like Fallout 3, doesn't Bethesda have to do extra edits and censoring for Japan? For instance, you couldn't detonate the bomb in Megaton, and the Fat Man weapon was renamed and edited. Basically, they have to modify and remove references and quests related to nuclear weapons, etc. Which, you know, can't be easy for a game centered around the effects of nuclear war. Bethesda was really concerned about offending the Japanese audience.
My point was that (per the OP), that they were not being "screwed" on purpose or out of spite. Your point is taken that there are specific issues dealing with their country of origin that are most likely the reason for the delay and I did not take that into account (but IMO, neither did the OP's original complaint).
Were Americans.
I think the Japanese by now are quite used to our National Ability to seemingly go out of our way to offend the hell out of them without even trying.
Although to be Honest, I think they still enjoy the look of shock as Americans take there first look at what they actually serve in McDonald's over there....
Indeed, I wait like 2 years in Europe on average for Japanese 3DS games. Many PSP/Vita games never ever come.
Oh and my country doesn't have a Nintendo distributor so if I select my country when I create a Nintendo account, I cannot even use eShop. So I had to show myself as Irish!
