Should characters have their own save folders?

Sure, saves me form overwriting the wrong save... Something which really svcks. DA:O got it, and it worked pretty well for me.

meh no need really, I rarely oversaved a save game, just let me name save files and the system is perfect for me.

Not needed for you maybe. But for other people like myself it would be unfathomably useful.

Theres no reason not to have a new save system, so I can't fathom why your're opposed to it.

But see, you have to read that, and a perusal of one of the several "OMG voice act everything, 'coz I can't be arsed to read!!1!!one!!" threads will make the problem with that fairly clear.

How many characters would you be able to save with this idea? How many folders would you have? Three? Five? With the present system, I can save every character I've ever made in the game. I like the possibility of keeping as many characters as I want, in as many saves as I want.

Dude, they're not just going to 'run out of room' for virtual folders. Both Mass Effect games and Dragon Age: Origins have used this character partitioning with no problems. It's not like it's a difficult thing to implement, and frankly there's no reason not to do it.

Yes please.

I hope that is sarcasm. There is literally no reason to not have this in Skyrim.

That was my only concern. This sound like a winner then. It would avoid unwanted overwrites, and that's a good thing.

This is a must for me!

On Oblivion i managed to overwrite my level 46 character because the game randomly scrambled my saves and i saved over that character without looking. Ok it was partly me being a [censored], but if they just implemented a system like in Dragon Age it would eradicate the problem.

I don't see why they won't do it.

There's also no reason for you to be unable to name your game saves- but unless you're on PC and know the correct console command, you can't do it. Consider the chances of gamesas writing a game-save-manager in that context and tell me what you come up with.

All I see is 'elitism' as the argument against it. Just because you feel superior for your anol retentive save management skills does not mean that the current system can not be greatly improved upon.

I only ever have a single character at a time, by the time I am "done" playing with one I erase it and start with a new one. It just feels a bit stupid to role play 5 different characters at the same time. If they really were that important, it's easy to use a USB stick once you are finished playing with the character, it's not like you'd have to save everything you do on the USB stick whenever you save the game, only when you know you are going to do a new character.

I become tired of a character if I play it too often :(

YES!!! Genius idea, dear sir, how very genius.
Really, In OB, when I wanted to start a new character just to get the last Achievement I needed for Xbox*, I had to deal with BOTH of their saves in the same darned list.(My usual character and my new one) And I use a f***ton of saves, so this would help. A lot.

*The last achievement was Duke of Dementia for the Shivering Isles expansion. Or was it the Mania one? I forget.

It looks like it will probably be in the game due to the many improvements, and most of their fans want it.....

Why then would you even want to go back to it later? Just save over it and be done with it :)

Well, that just got you an extra yes. I hated the way that, on xbox Oblivion anyway, the last save you made would be at the top of the list, then on the next restart you would have to scroll through two thirds of your saves to find your latest character.

now i, personally, only play the game so i can mod in naked elves who enjoy a good dance, but i'm all for a profile system. the one thing i liked about Fallout 3 using GFWL was that i could make profiles up the wazoo and everything would be all nice and clean and sorted but then i stopped using GFWL and my entire save folder went to hell.
