Considering an Intel graphics chipset is hit and miss with Oblivion, incapable of running Fallout 3 without a third party (And dodgy) bodge and barely capable of running New Vegas, I would have to say no.

No, simply because it's a lot of money to drop on a game and then find it doesn't run. People still do though and they end up with a game that won't run and a lot less cash in their pocket.

No, unfortunately not - that graphics chip is designed to run videos, not render games.

i can play oblivion max settings and i checked i can play past reccomended settings on fallout new vegas and i checked on the graphics card due to the person saying it was made for gameing...
Intel? HD GraphicsΔ enables superior mainstream gaming and 3D experiences

so now im basicly asking will the game have to good of graphics and to much going on to where my procceser cannot handle it even on min settings?

Oblivion is quite few years old now. It's not a good benchmark for a 2011 game. The Intels are known for being poor performers as a gaming chipset, often lacking required features (Such as the correct shader support for Fallout 3) They also work by 'leeching' memory from the main system RAM often leaving you with a lot less than you paid for.

It may be you have one of the better intels thats capable of running modern games more intensive than Mincraft. But 'Intel? HD GraphicsΔ' doesn't give enough info for us to go on.

Unknown. The minimum requirements haven't been announced yet so no one can pass any judgement.

But do remember Skyrim is on a newer more advanced engine that the somewhat decrepit Gamebryo engine used by Oblivion and the two recent Fallouts (The current version is around 3-4 years old minimum) It may be that you can run it, but you may have to wait and borrow it from a friend once it's released in order to find out how it runs.

Another thing. 'New' is a misnomer in computers. A laptop you bought new may actually be several years old with regards to text. Most new top of the line laptops are shifting with a lot more RAM than you have.

In any case, you are better off taking a wait and see attitude and waiting for reviews and tech reports on supported graphics providers (Min requirements only ever list Nvidia or ATI cards) rather than rushing out to buy on release.

On paper, yes.

In reality, unless Intel has suddenly started giving their chipsets onboard memory, then that memory will be coming directly from your system RAM leaving you with almost half of that 3GB RAM you have for other programs

Naysayers will say nay and that you need the latest and greatest... But if you can run Oblivion on max settings on your new laptop then I think it's a safe bet you can run Skyrim at least on normal settings. Remember that Xbox 360 ran Oblivion on worse settings than your PC and that SAME Xbox 360 will now run Skyrim like it looks in the trailer. I have a decent gaming computer but on forums people who have better systems are always talking about how they will "just barely make it" with the new games. I have yet to see a game that I can't run at a decent framerate with everything at max. The only one that is starting to strain my system is Shogun 2 Total War with double the Ultra unit sizes (which technically is not the way the game was designed anyway). Anyway, I'm technically out of date and still no problems. Don't worry about it.

People assumed the same thing about Fallout 3 and the H&S forums for that game get an average of one thread a week by someone who can't run the game on outdated or inadequete hardware 'Because it ran Oblivion' they assumed it would run Fallout 3.

You cannot say one way or the other about whether an Intel chipset will run Skyrim UNTIL its here. At the very least, wait until the minimum requirements are out. At best, you may be looking at very low to low settings as opposed to normal.
