Should Crytek remove all hackers from top of leaderboards?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:20 am

There's no way on earth the current leaders on the boards got there fairly (4000 to 1 K/D), I think Crytek owes it to us customers to remove them permanently and ban their accounts. They might come back but it would be small victory knowing they've done all that hacking only to get removed.

What do you think?

cant be done unless they have absolute proof of a hack been used. Watching someone play who is obviously hacking isnt enough, svcks though

come on you want proof?

number 1 played 45 min and seen his xp? need more proof?

nymber 2 played 6 hours and thats not long also, not enough to be on top normally need more proof?

seen number 4? played 00:00 hours

you dont need videos our whatever to see that some used hacks.

but so far crytek dont ban them, we have to do that usefull, thats why im happy i have a working rcon tool working from eai 0.4, since i have that program running my pleasure in this game is coming back.

There should be something like spectator mode in crysis 2. Only then Crytek could spectate "top gamers" and decide are they need to be banned or not.

But ofcourse in Crysis 2 (lets call it: beta game) there is no spectator mode.

It would be very nice if guys from Crytek deliver solid patch with that functionality.

Call it nit picking, but the leaderboard should be cleared of all the hackers at the top. It would actually be pretty nice if you could have a list to give you your global ranking. Would be awesome to see if you rank up or down once in a while.

Reset or delete all obvious hackers accounts without a notice or warning because it just looks wrong looking at the Top Scorers. And don't be so overly nice when it comes to this. Someone with 10 hours of gameplay can never be level 50. So get rid of him/her. Looks like a slap in the face for the programmers in its current state actually. Clear it quickly, no harm done.

You just gotta do it constantly every few days at first.

Apart from that the game is really fun.

The good question would be, why haven't they removed them by now?

Banning the account might be a bit much. Maybe just reset their stats and give them a 3-day ban or something.

3 days ban? Thats pretty short for a ban. I think it would be fair if they get a minimum 30 days ban.

Op has a very valid point and the argument that crytek needs absolute proof is a joke. The proof is in the stats the top 100 at least are so extremely obvious. You dont need video proof that those guys hacked the system. Some of them logged in for 18 seconds and are level 50. That to me should equal permanent account ban. There should be no second chances. They broke the eula and there for were warned to begin with. I say ban the top 100 permanently.

It's useless. If they ban them, they will be back in no time, because anticheat does not work at all.

So? Consistently ban them again if they clog up the top 100. Period.

Think of it from the hackers perspective, atm they are loving the fact that they've built up huge scores and pissed a lot of people off. They've put about a months worth of effort even with the hacks to get to the top of the leaderboard. Now if Crytek removed them from the top, that entire month of hacking and glitching the game to death would of been for nothing, they could come back but they have to start from nothing.

Even for rank hackers (the ones who are only in the game for a few minutes), it might have an effect.

Quoting^

My best guess is that they don't have any way to track anything apart these stats and they want to be sure before banning someone without a reasonable motivation.

Now, i would expect that.
The problem is that 3... 4(?) weeks later(today) and they are still there, doing what they like. It makes me think it's either because they don't have anything to perma ban these hackers/cheaters or because banning serial numbers/usernames right now is pointless.

Why pointless? Well the serial numbers to player the MP can be found everywhere on the internet, banning the usernames is even more useless since apparently they can name change while playing and you know, you can't ban someone without knowing his username(if the keep name changing over and over again, there is no way they can ban them).

Back to the topic, yes the scoreboard needs a nice clean. Right now top 100(if not more) are a fight between hackers!

I think that they should be officialy warned and if they will still hack and play unfare then they product key should be classified as banned.

i dont understand why these hackers dont just do the same thing they did in cod. just make their own servers and play cheater against cheater (i guess then it wouldnt be cheating and thats no fun(sarcasm)).
i only said cod but im pretty sure they have hacked every MP game in the past 10 years that way.
Also can anyone give us a real reason they were able to hack it so easily compared to all the other games that have come out in the last decade?

i have the final solution
just exclude any player that has.. let's say... less than 24 hours played from any leaderboard...
in this way most of the hacked scores will be excluded

the main player leadboard it looks that first 1000/1200 players are all hacked.

Also i think most of those players are all old players joined online with craked version before last patches, so there's no need to ban them, as they probably don't exists anymore

Get rid of them once and for all. Simple and clean. They probably haven't even paid for the game.

And even if they did they ruin the game experience for the rest of us. See how many threads there are in this forum.
There is no need to be "nice" to those morons. They violated the TOS, show them the door.
