should Daggerfall be playable in an 'extras' menu?

Just wait for DaggerXL.

Isn't that like, only 3% completed?

Considering Daggerfall is free to download and not overly difficult to set up it would probably be best to play it as a standalone game.

Is everyone forgetting we have consoles to ?

But i say no must not be included in Skyrim just as an Xbox live Arcade game and Ps3 Download

Unless you have a computer that's from 1994, you won't have any problem running Daggerfall. Dosbox requires an average or even below average computer to effectively run old games. :P

Nope, no need to bring Daggerfall in the "Extras". Since it's free to download on the website and that any computer can run it...

I do have a console. Also a PC. It doesn't take a brand new PC to use DOSbox.

Also, the game would have to be re-tooled for consoles...just play it on PC if you must play it.

Daggerfall is already a free download, and the disk space and dev time could be used for stuff that's actually related to Skyrim.

Hell to the no.

Play them off, Keyboard Cat.

It takes some getting used to, but the game downloads also come with guides on how to get the game installed and running.

UESP has downloads with pre-configured DOSbox. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/General:Playing_DOS_Installments_under_DOSBox. No need to set it up yourself. Download, install, enjoy. Simple.

It would be nice to play it on a console instead of a PC.

Saying it should be playable is probably a bit much, but sure, cool feature...

I would love to play Daggerfall on the console! I know everyone is concerned with space on the disc and dev's time. If we are talking about what would be cool without regard to time/money/space constraints then ya, it would be awesome to play Daggerfall on a console. But realistically, no. (Btw, I downloaded it for free and am playing it from now til 11/11/11)

any idea of how to get a 64bit compatible version? it doesn't work for vista 64 bit ultimate.

edit: nevermind it works with dosbox.

It's not difficult once you get the hang of it!

http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Basic_Setup_and_Installation_of_DosBox

This gives you the basics. Through the wiki you can also find info on what games are compatible with DOSbox. It's important to remember to put all game files into one folder so they can be easily mounted.

I voted no because you can download it from bethesda together with arena so there's no use in it and will prevent them from working for other MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THINGS.

What's the point? Just download it for free from the elder scrolls website.

If you look around you can find some pre-configured setups for both Arena and Daggerfall which makes the whole process plug and play.

Daggerfall is a full open world game that requires save games. It's not like other games that give you a quick match of tetris, or galaga in an extras menu. Why the heck would I load up Skyrim just to play Daggerfall? It makes no sense.

And if your saying because your a console player, you'd better be typing your response from the library or something because I guarantee if you own a PC it is very capable of running Daggerfall (unless it's a MAC or something, I'm not too sure about compatibility issues.)
