I wouldn't recommend this pile of garbage to my worst enemy.

If you're on Windows 7, stay there until Windows 9 is released. Windows H8.1 does offer some benefits under the hood, but the UI is not worth the trouble.

I can't stress this enough: The UI isn't worth the trouble. Stay the hell away from it and just stick with Windows 7.

You'll not realize the importance of the Start menu until it's gone.

With Windows H8.1, the Start menu never comes back unless you get a third party program to pretend it's back (and it's not as good as the original, though it does work).

Should have said Im already on windows 8, its not too bad. Just wondering if its worth going to 8.1, which apparently returns the start menu. I wouldnt say the UI is bad, just a bit pointless.

I'd suggest rolling back to 7. My wife has a Windows tablet running 8 and it's fine for a tablet but ducks for everything else.
