Fishing is confirmed.
Not sure how it will work though.

I remember fishing in the old N64 Zelda games. I can see where you're coming from, maybe a bit obsessively?

Isn't the whole lure *no pun intended* of fishing is to simply get away from everything and just relax. I don't think you realize how boring realistic fishing would be in this game.

Well if fishing is allowed, then unless we've got a silence spell cast on us it will certainly be "aloud".

ahem. Anyways, I believe fishing has indeed been confirmed, and if so I'm sure I'll spend half the game doing that.
It's what I did in Ocarina of Time.

There's a fish hung in the back of the bar, don't know what that means thought i'd share though.

Edit- For some reason link didn't stick. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/article/114/1149185/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-20110211094552237.jpg&imgrefurl=http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/75/video-games/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-978102/&usg=__6OSdgOKmqpnLj1k77wKnNx08JgM=&h=720&w=1280&sz=284&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=4D-Z3PqYbf3vhM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=201&ei=NQGgTerMFYqXtwe4kOChAw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dskyrim%2Bbar%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D695%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=264&oei=NQGgTerMFYqXtwe4kOChAw&page=1&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:0&tx=114&ty=58

It means, at the very least, that Bethesda is giving taverns, interiors, and the world itself a more realistic, hand-placed and "lived in" feeling with new props, ect. I'll applaud that any day, its the simple things that count.

Of course it does. That's like suggesting that picking berries doesn't fit in TES lore (nice pun by the way).
Anyways, we've already seen that an entire village will be focused upon the fishing industry in the concept art for Riften.

To sasquatch94: Fishing in OoT was pretty fun, although it was nothing special. I've always liked the fishing minigames in Legend of Zelda.

I feel either you get to go fishing like its zelda or you can have some cool weapon or spell effect. I rather have the cool effect.

Well yeah. I don't want them sacrificing anything for mini-game diversions, but I'd appreciate their inclusion.

Yea I was joking with the lure comment.....i thought the italics would help emphasize the sarcasm....

Fishing still hasnt been confirmed, as far as a mechanic that the player can actually use that is. Im hoping there is though. I love that hunting is going to be a lot better this time around, and I wouldnt mind fishing in there as well.

Hah, I'd like to see it in the game just for the novelty and enriching joy peacefulness (well not for the fish) of having your character be able to do it, yet I'm a 'vegan' in reality so it's funny.
