If you played Crysis 1 and are in search for a sequel, I can not recommend it as such.

The singleplayer of Crysis 2 does not classify well as a sequel, but rather an off drifted fan fic.
The gameplay is quite different due to the changed nano suit and completely different and environment and connections to the story of Crysis 1 or Crysis Warhead are virtually non-existent.

The multiplayer of Crysis 2 also has absolutely nothing to do with Crysis 1 MP or Crysis Wars. Completely different game modes and game mechanics.


If you are just looking for a game to buy:

For singleplayer:
Definately in the upper leagues of today's game market, though you will facepalm on some points because of some all to blatant elements copied from CoD. It's a very smooth game to play as long as you don't play it for the story.

For multiplayer:
MP with guys in nanosuits is still on a similar high fun level as it was in Crysis 1/ Crysis Wars, but atm the bugs and balance problems might ruin it for you.
From time to time you will face very bad hit registration, jumping lagging people, incorrect killcams, bugged gamma rays that make almost everybody just stand still, while you can move, and so on.
Ofc, since this game is new and hip, there are quite of cheaters.
Also if you have a special dislike of CoD-like leveling of your multiplayer account - it is there.
If you want to have a new mp game to play competitively, I can not recommend it, due to the CoD like leveling system, that I think will never change, and naturally, the bad hit reg.
I could go on with this list, but I think you get the point

Put it this way, if a start up company had made this game every one would have been like "this is pretty good, I bet this company will go places in the future (barring the epic fail launch I guess)" But crytek made the game and thats why everyone is so disappointed. Its still a fun game and a good game (but like I said launch was a fail) its just no where near crytek or what people "thought" crytek standards should have been. This would be a really good game at a $40 price.

you dont want this crap , If you can Borow from your frined complete the single ,the froget crysis 2. Multiplayer just like a very bad copy of call of duty,and yep -> irritating , you dont have reason to play for (maxium speed mr crytech.... maximum speed ). I really enjoyed crysis wars, but crysis 2 multi a totaly mistake. WE dont need crysis 3, or we need just not another call of duty... and another bad bad bad console port. is there any way to i get a full refund ? (for myself this is the bigest mistake in my life, to buy that ). Once again singli not bad (crysis 1 and warhead still better then this).

I keep checking the forums hoping that MP will be fixed soon and dx11/sandbox 3 is released. How can visiting the forums mean I automatically like the game?

In its current state I would recommend NOT purchasing this POS until it gets fixed.

I like the game really, I hadn't any problems with the serial or unlocking the features. For sure there are some bugs, but not more as any other rushed released game ... and there are working on it.

IMO SP is epic .. great story .. great sound and music .. very nice cut scenes .. great scenarios (that what everybody want to have after Warhead (like the best available mods back then): Crysis in the city!) .. good AI, I head a great challenge (for sure there are some bugs, but very less) .. perfect game play, if you played C1 and Wars like a pro, than you had the same configuration, except now it's possible to combine nano suite modes (but u have all the time speed and strength mode operating, for me no problem, it's great to handle) .. and for DX9 unbelievable great graphics (DX11 will come) ... so if you really played C1 and Warhead, you have to buy this game!!!

I love the MP too, rush action, great game modes (and you can play every mode with "One Life" or "Pro" or "Classic" and so on), uncountable tactics ... also some bugs, but there are working on it!

This post will raise some flame noobs, but anyway make your own decision ... there are also very many ppl out there loving this game ... and for them, like me, it's no problem to wait for the DX11 patch or fixed bugs.

I bought this game despite reading about the issues the game is facing as I've been wanting to buy this game since the time I saw its first teaser way back a few years ago. I've only played about an hour or so of the game and some very small amount of multiplayer so I suppose I'm not in any position to give you any advice of any sort. But if it does matter in any way, I'd say, if you want a movie like experience in the single player campaign mode, if you really wanna feel that you're playing a movie in the true sense of the word and if you're content with some Call of Duty style packed multiplayer I'd say go for it. With the average player that I am, I can see that I'll be able to get a good 15 - 16 hours from the single player campaign plus about double the amount of time in mulitplayer. And for me, the game cost around $20 (INR 999), me being from India. So there was absolutely no reason to not buy the game given the number of hours of entertainment I'll be able to squeeze out of it. That's my opinion. Hope it helps in some way !!!

Agree for the not purchasing it actualy. Totaly not worth it ( or for 10-20euros )

And they do not annonce ANY sb3 release ! the summer CE3 SDk ( IS NOT LIKE SB2 ) its more like the UDK (unreal ) = nothing from crysis2 to create map like you are able to do with the SB2 and Crysis games. ( unless if they change their plan until there. )

I can only comment on MP because im not starting SP until the DX 11 patch but MP is growing on me. There are agravating issues like being disconnected and guns and tags not unlocking properly. Also there are quitea few cheaters online. But im having fun and its growing on me more and more.
