I'm not sure where you're from, but both Fallout 1 and 2 cost $10-15 USD online, or the whole trilogy (FO1, FO2, Tactics) for $20 USD. If toucan really only get one, buy Fallout 1, then 2 & Tactics.
As Mysterious One already pointed out, you can get Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics for about $20. So why would you only get one, when you can get all three for super cheap.
Just got all three, I thought the whole pack was thirty dollars instead of twenty.
I've played the first a little bit, but now I'm wondering how/ if I can rest and/ or wait. I don't want to sit in Shady Sands all night because Razel (I think...) doesn't want to talk to me at night!
But I am having loads of fun with it, I'm getting a few bugs with the graphics since my graphics card/ whatnot is not really meant to be playing 90's games.
To rest or wait, either press z or open the pipboy and press the bell button next to the time. To save yourself some trouble, 8 am is when most people are active and not telling you leave. Though some places only open at evening or night.
Alright, graphics bugs are getting annoying, some buildings have purple splotches on them and the screen will randomly black out; the only way to fix this is to run the mouse all over the screen.
Can anyone link a guide on how to fix this or just tell me here?
To take care of the black screen either press f1, which shows all the keyboard hotkeys, or any menu that fills up the whole screen. To help with the colors you should try the http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1370, although that needs other patches installed. Its documentation will tell you which ones. Depending on which unofficial patch installed you may have to start over, which is shown by the game kicking you back to the title screen when trying to load.
Do the one's on steam work correctly, I'm only asking this because I've never played an older game off steam before and don't know if that would change anything.
I still have my original copies of the games. So I haven't had to download them from Steam. But from what I have heard, buying from Steam is better than buying the CDs themselves, because Steam includes the patchs needed for them to play on Windows 7.

Good to hear, I've played Fallout before and I liked it alot and now I feel like actually playing through all of the games before F3, except for y'know...that one...
