Should i get Skyrim now for PS3?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:15 am

Well since a patch has came out, i was wondering if i should pick it up now or wait even longer for a couple of more patches. I already plan on getting Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 as i only own a PS3.

If this was a PC vs. PS3 thread then I'd say no.

HOWEVER seeing as that is not the case, yes. You should just get it now.
Frankly you've missed out not playing it since release, even with all the bugs.

What are you using to post on this forum?

Unless your PC is the same age as consoles ( 5-6 years ), then I don't see why you don't get it for your PC. The minimum requirements are so low that anyone with a 3-4 year old PC should be able to play it.

I don't want to sound like some PC elite guy, but I'd just like new players to enjoy skyrim at its full potential; with mods and console commands ( Uber graphics obviously for those with capable PCs )

My computer has very low specs. It can not run it even on minimum. I used the system requirements lab. My computer is very close to the minimum bar but i would rather play games on a console.

I hate to sound like the really devoted fan which defends games just because of the name, even though there are many problems, but, I own it on the ps3, and the latest patch has not damaged my game at all so far, infact for me it is less buggy. So i say yes!

Get a PC or build one i recommend.. If I were you I would get on PC because the PS3 version is purposely bad and second of all... PS3 hasn't gained a thing.. 360 gets the first 2 Add-On's a month early.. PC players get mods.. PS3 get frame-rate issues..

No. I bought it on PS3 and regret it after patch 1.2. It lags, it bugs, it crashes, it also got file corrupted and I lost 74-75 hours of gameplay, both my auto-saves and my manual save are all gone. I wouldn't recommend the Xbox version either or the PC one. Right now, I'd recommend you to wait a few months until they fix this messy game.

I'd wait, at least until the fix the problem of lag and memory the longer you play the game, and something about corrupting saves too.

But hey, I'll sell you mine!

I built a PC and haven't touched it since I bought a console LOL

PS3 is the better system (over XBOX and PC) but for Skyrim, i'd get the XBOX or PC one due to the fact they get mods and DLC earlier.
(However, the PS3 version is still good)

If your options are PS3 or nothing, then the answer is very easy - buy this game on PS3.

Everyone will have their own opinion about what to play it on, but I have been using a PS3 and haven't had any serious issues at all...

I play it on the PC and couldn't disagree more - I have had a lot less crashes then Morrowind, in fact nothing in particular has interfered with playing my game and having loads of fun. (and I have been playing it alot)

The friends I have who are playing it are 360-ers and they haven't reported any serious issues and have been playing about as much as I have.

Seeing how you can't run it on PC, get it on PS3 (unless you feel like dishing out for a new PC). My PS3 version is doing fine, I would suggest getting it. PC would be ideal, because of console commands and mods, but with PS3 you'll still have great fun. If lag starts to develop, try some tips from http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1308326-ps3-tips-to-try/.

This post made me laugh, its bitter but in a "ha ha" kind of way. I'd say "no", for the aforementioned reasons. I'd hang back and wait for the bugs to be worked out before committing to buying it on PS3. PS3 users got the shaft whether its Bethesdas fault or Sony's for having a harder system to design for I don't know. Bottom line, PS3 version is having immense problems if the posts on the forums are taken at face value.

Yes, you should get the game for PS3. Luckily, Bethesda gave PS3 users many great exclusive features, like unplayable framerates and overwritten save files.

Well.. God I'm sick of all the negativity on this forum. I have over 130 hours on ps3. Sure framerate drops after 6-7 hours. It's a easy fix that gets you another 6-7 hours. I have had one crash, 1 around 70 hours.

I've got both consoles, i keep coming back to the PS3.

Why you might ask?

Well, after comparing the both of them IMO i've narrowed it down to this, the only reason i see paying $80 a year for Live for is the party chat.

Hoping that future patch will correct the lag problem, i should say yes. But if you want to make sure you will not throw away your money, supposing the problem will never be patch, then no.
I'm playing it on the PS3 and the game is awesome but for now, the lag is a big issue.
