Should i give Oblivion another try?

Post » Wed May 21, 2014 10:04 am

So yeah i'm a huge Skyrim fan and yes i have played Oblivion before but i always get a few hours in and then i quit or i get busy doing something else. it's really hard to get into Oblivion when you can play Skyrim. i really don't care that it does'nt look that great. it just seems like every time i'm out on an adventure free roaming the world there is some really bad lag. it gets so bad in some places that it makes me feel dizzy so is it the game in genral or is it the xbox 360 version? so should i give Oblivion another try? and yes i do have all of the dlc. and yes Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game.

Oblivion is MUCH better than skyrim in many ways IMO, so yes you should try it.

Sort of like you, I also wonder if I should give it another try. I never finished it however having bought it on sale for the 360 at the same time I got Skyrim on 11/11/11 for the PS3. And you can imagine what I played more lol. I should get it for the PC now. I hear great things about it.

As much as I enjoy Skyrim (and am back into playing it again) Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls game (which I just got done with doing a full playthrough with just a little bit back). I highly suggest the Shivering Isles at least. It's still the main reason I go back and play Oblivion, well outside of a few other reasons like attributes, and the fame/infamy system, and the fact I can actually hear things in game. And the colors. I especially like the color in the Shivering Isles. I'll stop there.

Mine as well, I honestly prefer Skyrim but Oblivion is still a pretty good game.

:thanks: for all the help, but two things #1. how come nobody voted on the pole? #2. does Oblivion have major ummm? how do you say it lag or frame rate issues? i don't know if i'm using the right terms, sorry. but sometimes it makes me feel dizzy when i play it or is it just the xbox 360 version.

The dizziness might come from the TERRIBLE Feild of view, which can make people dizzy, though Skyrim also has terrible FOV, so....

Oblivion and Skyrim have an FOV somewhere around 65, the normal human vision has it closer to 90-120.

Lag? not really. IMO, though, the BEST (and IMO, ONLY) way to experience a TES games is to play it on the PC.

I don't get any lag whatsoever in my Xbox Oblivion. When the game loads a new cell, it pauses for a second but that's it.
