Should Haggling be taken out of Skyrim?

I like to trade goods directly, but being able to get a little more for the goods I have helps too. The system in bethesda's Fallout games works fine for me. The better your mercantile the lower your prices. Being able to further influence them with your personality would make for a nice system.

I just hope there are more things to buy or a reason to buy foods. Maybe we'll need to buy tools and materials for crafting

I liked the system well enough in Oblivion (and weren't the store owner's disposition towards you would raise if you're willing to sell plenty of stuff rather cheap to them? That was pretty nice, I think). Though I must say that Morrowind's barter system was already pretty good enough as it is in a certain area. It wasn't as tedious as the Oblivion's system, where it would be quite a pain in the [censored] whenever you were about to make a transaction for a bunch of different stuff at the same time (a single transaction at a time for each items. Bleurgh).

What I would really like to see though is maybe an added depth to it without making it too cumbersome to pull, really. So it's a yes for a bartering system, in one form or another but not when it becomes too cumbersome, and a no to making it more like how the Acrobatics and Athletics skills were in the previous games.

I think haggling should be like in Arena.

I was just going to say that.

Mostly because I was just watching Bashurs playthrough of Arena, and I've never used the haggling myself in that game (I was too lazy, and haven't played it very much), but when I saw how it works I really ended up liking it.

Yes! I want the entire mercantile skill taken out, I never took that skill, there was always something more useful. I really don't mind paying a little extra for goods, I have a habit of picking up anything sellable in sight anyways so money was never an issue.

I never really bothered with mercantile. Always found it easy enough to make money that it was generally useless. 'Course, if they made it a fun minigame in Skyrim I could probably go for that.

Morrowind system was 100 times better than Oblivion's.(I haven't played arena though)
I cannot see why people dislike it.(Fear of anything Morrowind?)
