Should I join the companions or not?

I started a new character.

Which is a dual blade mistress. (Heavy Armor, two blades.)
She fights like a warrior.
She does not use any magic, but the thu'um. However, she is very spiritual and has a great respect for magic. And I don't think the companions like magic.
She is also quite the lone and mysterious warrior, she would prefer fighting on her own, or with somebody mystical.
...
Also if she becomes a werewolf she wouldn't be able to go to Sovngarde, right? I was hoping for my character to go to Sovngarde anyway, she is a nord. :D (I know I can cure Lycanthrophy, but those guards will still gossip about my wolfish grin and the fur coming out of my ears.)

I can tell the appearance to, it is a common appearance I used with other characters, but they failed.

Pale skin, black hair, strong black eyeshadow and Light Gray eyes (Or completely white, not sure yet.).

I know that the companions are very usefull for a warrior, but it shouldn't be impossible to grow strong without them. :o

Sure. A warrior would fit in fine in the companions. If you come across a certain event that makes you not want to continue on, you don't have to do it. The companions would probably highly approve of the thu'um though given their traditional values.

Yeah, you probably should. The thing that confuses me however is that the Circle accepts you when you've only done about two quests.

And you are forced into a transformation that has hardly anything to do with the Companions.

Personally I say if it offends you that much. Walk out of that underforge and never come back.(I just wish Vilkas and Farkas still offered misc quests at that point in the companion questline)

I think you are right then.

She could be more like an ally than a member. Officially she is a member, but she barely visits so.... :o

If you're on PC there might be(By there might be, I mean there almost certainly is) a mod that lets you work around that particular issue.

Sadly, no.
I got ps3, I don't regret it though.

And I guess that even as Lycan she could go to Sovngarde...I mean...she is dragon born.
It would probably be her alter ego that goes to Hircine, while she goes to Sovngarde herself.
Makes decent sense to me.

Only the inner circle are werewolves, so not all companions are. Otherwise they are seen as a warrior type guild. I've never picked up anything from them saying they hated magic. I travel alone, always, unless I am force fed a follower. It will happen a few times with the companions quest line, otherwise there is nothing dictating you have to travel with them.
