Should Kahjiit go on all fours when Sneaking?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:18 pm

For me, it depends on what type of Khajiit there will be in Skyrim. The more catlike ones should go on all-fours when sneaking but the more humanoid ones should not.

http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/?p=conceptart§ion=15266
this shows drawings of different khajiit.
Tojay might walk conferrable on all four because of their short legs, perhaps also Cathay, non of the other two legged ones.

Tracking makes more sense than sneaking on all four http://freefall.purrsia.com/ff1400/fc01301.htm

There are some who ALWAYS go on all four... there are also two breeds who are used by other khajits as mounts...

I am corrected. I didn't even realize that the Khajiit had multiple breeds. Interesting.

The way Khajiits are built would make them look stupid on all fours. Their butts would stick way in the air.

it would not be tactically advantageous for a would be theif/assasin to not have his hands at the ready.

also having to creep 4 limbs along instead of 2 doubles the risk of making a noise.

logic has ended this discussion.

did you sleep in biology class or did you skip for playing any of the other TES games?

it depends on how the body is build...
the khajiit from oblivion couldn't go on 4 legs the more cat likes couldn't go on 2!!!

Kinda a random topic, tried looking if there was any others like it, but alas, no other topics were found.

ANYWAYS - Would you want the Kahjiit to go on all four paws/hands/whatever when in Sneak Mode? After all, they're cat people. What do you think?

Side note - Maybe have Argonians slither around when they're in Sneak mode :hubbahubba: Yes I know, they're LIZARDS, not SNAKES. Maybe they can sneak like a lizard instead?

Argonians I think share traits of amphibians, snakes, and lizards... besides that and based on your idea, since they are 'lizard people' they should be able to crawl and stick to walls and ceiling correct? =/

sounds like one step closer to making them 2nd class citizens, and give more fodder to the Argonians who already make fun of them.

Nope. Don't see why they would. Never have walked on all fours before.

I think it would be a good idea as it would be visually classy and it would also be something else that makes them unique and different from all the rest of the races, however if you look at the logic when your on all fours you cover more ground space so wouldnt that make sneaking past people in the game more difficuilt?

On the other hand, since your on the ground... you'll be harder to spot.. and being on all four (if used to it) increases balance

MFW I totally started this idea first and now people are making threads about it. :celebration:

But yes yes, I must agree. It would be an awesome addition to the game. It would be kind of cool if you could maybe run on all fours too but that's not as important.

How on earth would you draw and fire a bow? Let alone swing an axe without falling over?

I don't think they have the right limb/body length to be suited for all fours movement, since besides being based on cats, they have roughly human proportions and have you tried walking on all fours?

Well race specific animation will be awesome if will be done, but even small details like whiskers, claws and paws will be good

na,
cats use all fours because they're not trying to kill you with a bow and arrow,
if they were chances are they'd be doing that freaky two-leg shuffle, with their eyes all wide and starey
