Should Kahjiit go on all fours when Sneaking?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:48 pm

Kinda a random topic, tried looking if there was any others like it, but alas, no other topics were found.

ANYWAYS - Would you want the Kahjiit to go on all four paws/hands/whatever when in Sneak Mode? After all, they're cat people. What do you think?

Side note - Maybe have Argonians slither around when they're in Sneak mode :hubbahubba: Yes I know, they're LIZARDS, not SNAKES. Maybe they can sneak like a lizard instead?

Would be nice. Not the most important thing in the world though so I would rather they spent the time on something else and someone modded it.

TOTALLY!

If that were the case my first character in Skyrim would be a Kahjiit

No because they are not built for it, a cat may sneak better on all 4 but a Kahjiit would most likely not considering our generic Kahjiit spends most of his time if not all on 2 legs and needs to use his hands for other things.

I voted yes, but I'm starting to think it's best suited for the other breeds. Like the Alfiq or the Senches and Pahmers :)

Odds are the Suntray-rhat like in every other game.

I think they could just crouch when they sneak, but if they have something like going prone in this game, then they should walk more like a four-leg animal. That could be a sneak mode where you move even slower, but also reduces the chance to be detected even further.

Kajiits and Argonians are bi-pedal humanoids and just like humans when on all fours they would be crawling. If it is to be added as a game mechanic is should apply to all races.

He could stand on his legs when he needs to do stuff like that. Khajiits should also get a perk which allows them to do bleeding damage with hand-to-hand strikes. Or maybe that should be an innate ability.

Simply balance on his/her legs while he/she performs actions.
Not a bad idea but there are more important things.

the bonus to H2H is a good idea, as an innate ability.

Don't care

However, one can be much more quiet on all fours than on two. Balance, being able to move sound making things (twigs, stones, etc.) etc.

But, then would there be a stealth penalty if one wears gauntlets?

No, but I think it would be a neat feature to be able to go prone. Though it would be pointless :P

had been cool, however on both the Oblivion and Morrowind version the legs are much longer than the arms making it impractical. The legs in Morrowind is actually longer than standard legs.
So it would require a very different body, causing lots of problems with armor and clothing.

I love this idea actually. Could be like the Werewolves in Bloodmoon where you move on all fours when your claws aren't readied for attack. Could be the same in this case for crouching Khajiit, then once you unsheath/draw a weapon they change to a more humanoid crouching position. ^_^

The type of Khajiit we play in the TES games walking on all fours makes as much sense as humans walking on all fours.

We don't know what type we'll be playing Skyrim though. I believe there was something mentioned about different body types in regards to character creation? If so we might be able to select what manner of Khajiit we play as. :)

Not necessarily. There are several different types of Khajiits, some that are barely distinguishable from a cat in behavior and movement. It's not too farfetched to say that Khajiits would choose to sneak in this manner.

I'd support seeing it, it would be a cool little addition to the game. However, I highly doubt this will happen. I find it hard to believe they'd put a bunch of time into making a custom animation just for one race's sneaking.
